About this mailing:
This mailing contains various feedback received over the past few days.
Now is the time to reflect and comment. When feedback starts to die
down, we'll do a blow-by-blow summary of every event, and use that to
start the discussion in the organizational list for next year.
Your comments, both positive and negative, are most helpful.
Thanks, gang. :)

>Annie,
>thank you for my best vacation since 1982.
You're very welcome. Hmmmm, that must have been >SOME< trip in 1982!
Wish I coulda been there with you! (Or do I? :)
>I would also like to extend
>my thanks to Melissa, Tina and all the others who contributed their time
>and efforts to make Diva 2000 the event of the year.
Yes, I second that! I think the volunteer scheme worked out quite well
this year. That way no one person or group gets stuck doing everything.
Thanks again, gang!

>Yes, my car got towed. Yes, I got some rude comments. Yes, I got told

>just time for the odds to catch up with me.
Hmmmm, I guess the odds haven't caught up with me yet. I didn't have a
bit of trouble again. {Knocking on wood.} :) From what I could see in
the lounge area, everybody was watching the stage, those who were
sitting in the back didn't really get any attention.
Deb and I did have a "close encounter of the elevator kind" when we were
going to the Frank Marino show, but I think we kinda caught them off
guard more than anything. :)
>Still, as I look back on last weekend from the distance of several days,
>what I really remember are the good times: the Splash show, the 5 AM
>laughs at Las Vegas Lounge, singing karaoke at Good Times late on Sunday

Yes, thinking back I think this was the most fun of all four years, even
though I couldn't drink this time. Everybody seemed to have a great
attitude and was in the mood to have a good time. I enjoyed everything I
did with the group.
>It was wonderful meeting everyone.
Yes, I agree! :)

>Here Here! Annie, you out-did yourself this year! I don't know how
>you find the time or energy to do this, but thanks again for a
>wonderful weekend!
Really, gang, it doesn't take that much time or energy at all, and with
such great volunteers this year, it went quite smoothly.
>Everything was great! My room was great! The food was great!
Great! :)
As I look back, I don't think I had a bad meal at any time this trip.
Even the buffets where we ate (Sahara, Palace Station, IP, Stardust,
etc.) seemed to be good this time.
Did anybody have the bal^H^H^Hguts to try the Westward Ho buffet?
Of special note was Milano's, on Naples between Swenson and Paradise.
We had groups eat there twice and the food was excellent both times.
(Be sure to ask for the Italian Dr. Pepper. :)
>The
>show was great! And funny too!
This is the fourth year we saw La Cage, and I admit I've enjoyed it each
time. Yes, I admit that "ballroom" joke gets old, but the show is fast-
paced and still seems fresh each time around. I thought our seats were
much better this year, but still a little cramped.
>and the chance to go out and just be the way I want was great!
This is the most important part of the trip for many. From what I heard,
most people were comfortable in public in Las Vegas, and had very few
hassles even on the big dress-up nights. As I visually compared our
people in public to the tourists and passers-by, I think everybody
blended in quite well. People come in all shapes and sizes, and I didn't
see any of our people attract any undue attention.

>Hmmm that must be why when me an Stephanie showed up we missed you all

>we didn't see you all at the Parking lot both days we got some nice

>then at Mirage an Riviera we got matching T-Shirts with embroiderd logos
>for about 11$ so it was fun we also went all the way down to the Luxor
>*WOW*
Hmmmm, I tried to make myself VERY conspicuous in the parking lot. I was
sitting dead ahead of the drive-in entrance to the lot. When we left the
lot, we made a very complete drive-thru to check for any stragglers.
Maybe that plan doesn't work as well as I thought it would, or maybe we
need a magnetic "DLV" sign to stick on the side of the car or something.
>it was nice then Tues nite we went to Freezone for the goodbye drink an
>nobody was there either
Well, a bunch of us kinda got "stuck" at the LV lounge that evening, some
until about 5:00 in the morning. No, I was not one of those. :)
>but there was a room full of cute lesbian GG's
>to people watch around 9:30 we went back to Westward Ho an listend to

Yes, gang, don't forget Fall Harvest in October. :)

>at the CrackerBarrel in Boise at 11am I got a nice Nascar Shirt for the
>Crakerbarrel 500 for 9$ they are normally 35$ :o)) well look fwd to
>seeing your pics soon I just seen Julie had problems with her camera :-(
Yes, that's really bad about the pics. Mine are in the lab right now,
and I hope to have some of them scanned and ready by the end of the
weekend.

Well, don't let it hurt you :) but yes, you were missed. Things went
quite well, and people are already looking forward to DLV 2001.

Feedback:
>All I can say is that I enjoyed the whole thing and had no problems at
>all, until I got ready to check out and discovered that there were no
>available elevators at the Stratosphere.
That's the problem with many of the hotel towers around check-out time.
They simply do not provide enough elevators for the peak down rush in
the morning. We had some major problems with this at the downtown
Doubletree for FH97. This trip, I specifically requested the smallest
tower at the Sahara for the reason that getting in and getting out of
the room via elevator is much faster.
I've noticed this very problem at the one Riviera tower and at the
Imperial Palace too.
>I finally caught an "up" elevator and rode it all the way to the top and
>back down. As the sardine can stopped at each floor, there were
>actually people sleeping on the carpet waiting for the day when a full
>elevator would come.
I use this very trick when I have to stay at the Holiday Inn in Chicago.
People catch on to it quickly, and I've seen elevators totally packed on
the up trip, only to stop on every floor on the down trip to see the
frowns and hear the curses of those waiting.
>If there were any stairs, nobody could find them. Stratosphere has the
>same amount of elevator space as the building where I work, but has four
>times as many floors and hundreds of times more traffic. So...I'll
>have to think about that before I stay at the Strat again.
Stair towers are usually at the ends of the hallways, and they should
be conspicuously marked.
>The one nice thing about it was that the rooms have a safe to store your
>jewelry, guns, ammunition, dilators, KY Jelly, condoms....all the things
>you don't want the cleaning staff to find.
Was that a free safe or a pay one. In some of the LV hotels, they have
an electronic-lock safe that bills a few $$$ to your room when you use
it. I know the new Stardust tower has free safes, but it seems like hit
and miss as to which hotels have them.
