Only 36 days left, gang!
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
Time to firm things up:

We're closing in on the one month mark, gang, and we need to tie up a
few loose ends, take some headcounts, and firm up a number of items on
the schedule.

This is a special mailing that consists only of the various hoops that
need to be jumped thru and other housekeeping items. The routine items
that have been received will appear this Sunday.

Please read the following items carefully, as there is a feedback
component in most of them, and the others announce firming up of some
of the open items.
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
La Cage/Frank Marino headcount:

We'll need a headcount, as soon as possible of those planning on
attending the Frank Marino "La Cage" show at the Riviera at 9:30pm
on Saturday evening.

****FEEDBACK NEEDED****

If you plan on attending, please send a brief e-mail directly to
Melissa at:

Melissa_T17@mailcity.com

Please do not reply to the list on this, but e-mail directly.

Please state that you will be attending, and how many people will be
with you.

>In reference to the seating, we are planning on using the VIP option,
>which is preferred reserved seating. That should take care of that
>problem, and I will make sure that proper, comfortable and good seats
>are made available to the group .

Cost for this will be $36 per person, VIP option, including one
drink and gratuities.

However, ...

>And should there be any question----no, I do NOT want any money mailed
>to me, no I do NOT want any credit card numbers. All I want is the
>confirmation from those that are sincere in attending. I will call and
>make the arrangements, give them a group name as a contact, and then
>email everyone back, so they can use their credit cards DIRECTLY with
>the Riviera by phone. I understand that we are not known to most, and I
>too, would have a problem with giving money or a credit card to someone
>I didn't know. This should alleviate that concern.

This is at the Riviera Hotel, north Strip, very easy to find. Either
boymode or girlmode dress, casual to dressy, will be appropriate.

Thanks, Melissa :)

Activity notes:

We need to set in stone a few of the items on the slate, as far as time,
place, etc. ...

Thursday 5:30pm : Group dinner

Let's do this informally. Let's meet at the Sahara Hotel buffet at
5:30pm Thursday evening. No headcount, no signup, just showup. :) This
is very reasonably priced, and will have something anybody can enjoy.
This is very easy to find, right at the corner of Las Vegas Blvd.
(Strip) and Sahara. Valet parking is in the circle drive, right off the
Strip, and there is a large self-parking lot behind the building with a
covered walkway. Casual dress is suggested.

Thursday 8:00pm : Pre-DLV get-together

Let's plan for this at 8:00pm Thursday evening at the Las Vegas Lounge
at 900 Karen Avenue (easy trip from the Sahara). This is t* owned and
operated, very t-friendly. This is a very good place for a first
coming-out. It's a bit off the beaten path, but centrally-located and
not too hard to find. Dress can range from very casual to moderately
dressy, either boymode or girlmode.

Explicit directions will be sent out as the time approaches.

Friday 7:00pm : Welcome get-together

Let's go ahead and plan for this to be at our "traditional" venue for
this, the Good Times Lounge at Tropicana and Spencer, right beside the
Liberace Museum. Friday evening, 7:00pm. Very easy to find. This is not
far from the Freezone, where our dinner is planned that evening. Again,
this is a very good place for a first coming-out, and anything from very
casual to moderately dressy, either boymode or girlmode, will be fine.
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
Call for comments:

We've had two suggestions for a casual activity for Saturday afternoon.
One being a shopping excursion to various malls and shops, and the other
being a casino-hopping Strip tour, concentrating on the north area of
the Strip. (We did this on the south Strip last year.)

**NEED FEEDBACK**

Please hit REPLY with a brief one-liner stating which of these you
prefer.

Either of these can be done either in boymode or girlmode (casual to
very casual, comfortable shoes, please).

Please let us know ASAP which you would prefer.
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
Call for volunteers:

We do have a few items which need to be "adopted" by volunteers if they
are to happen, including:

Sunday Evening : Group dinner (NEED VOLUNTEER)

Monday PM : Side trip(s) (NEED VOLUNTEER(S))
Evening : Possible show (NEED VOLUNTEER)

***NEED FEEDBACK***

If you would like to see any of these happen, and would like to enough
that you are willing to do some of the legwork to make them happen,
please hit REPLY now, and say to the effect: I would be willing to
coordinate the {whatever} on {whenever}.

Granted, some of these *could* be planned and done on short notice
during DLV, but history has shown that when this is done, not everybody
gets the word. We do want to plan in advance, and be as inclusive as
we can.
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
SO's Luncheon:

If this is to happen, I would like to see it planned in advance, and
all-inclusive (of SO's, that is).

**NEED FEEDBACK**

This has been briefly discussed, but no specific plans have been made.
If it is to happen, we need somebody (preferably a SO) to volunteer
to coordinate it. If you would like to volunteer for this, please hit
REPLY and say so, giving your preferred date and time for this, so we
can get it on the slate and pass the word.

We do need to "defecate or abdicate" on this one shortly.

I know a number of SO's will be in attendance this year, from the
mailings we've received.
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
T-shirts:

I requested sizes, etc., on this, but have only received two responses.

**NEED FEEDBACK**

If you want one of these, as my gift to you, and you attended DLV99,
please hit REPLY and state your name (obviously) and your size. Please
state both your usual adult t-shirt size (s-xxl) and your normal dress
size, since I get the blank shirts from two sources who size them a bit
differently.

The color scheme for the DLV99 shirts is shown in the image:

http://www.geekbabe.com/dlv/dlv2000/dlv2k1b.gif

On the shirts, the lettering shown in the image will be elevated, and
"May 14-18, 1999" will appear at the bottom.

I've had nothing but good comments about the DLV98 shirts, which can
be worn either in boymode or girlmode. The DLV99 shirts are the same
except for color scheme and lettering.

Mary Kay:

Ronnie and Beth are Mary Kay representatives who are familiar with the
t* community. If there's a demand, she has volunteered again to offer
her products and services to the DLV people.

These services do include complimentary makeovers.

***NEED FEEDBACK***

We need to know if there is a demand for this. As some of you may
remember, last year, makeovers were the hottest topic a few months
before DLV, but come show time, there was little interest.

If she's gonna take time off from her day job for us, I want to
assure her there is at least a moderate amount of interest.

Soooo..... If you are interested in makeovers and consultations,
please hit REPLY and send in a one-liner "I am interested" note.

Let's put a "Mary Kay Open House" on the slate for Friday afternoon, and
firm this up when we get enough feedback.

Ronnie writes:

>Just a note to let you know I'm still here and let me know if my
>services are in demand.

>Lots of stuff to choose from. Good bargains. Great products.

>I've arranged to be free from my job 5/11 and 5/12. Let me know.

>Ronnie Daniel
>Mary Kay Beauty Consultant
