Only 108 days left, gang!
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
There have been some fleeting suggestions of things some of you wanted
to do on the #crossdress channel, such as take in the "Legends In
Concert" show. If you have suggestions on things that you think the
group would enjoy doing, please send a note here to the list so we can
get them on the tentative slate. I'm taking the liberty of adding that
one here.
Here's the list of planned and proposed events and activities as it
sits now, which is *very very* preliminary. Dates/times are sometimes
noted for those that occur on a specific date/time.
Remember, not everybody has to do everything, and everyone is free to
plan and schedule additional and alternate activities.
* Welcome get-together Friday evening (T-friendly club, 7-ish).
* Kenny Kerr show Saturday night, Plaza Hotel (dark Sunday).
* Rocky Horror Picture Show. Saturday night (only), after Kenny Kerr.
* Frank Marino show Sunday evening, Riviera (dark Saturday).
* Driving/walking Strip tour, Saturday afternoon.
* Hoover Dam tour, some afternoon, possibly Sunday.
* Legends In Concert, Monday Evening, Imperial Palace (dark Sunday)
* Trip to Rhyolite, some morning/afternoon.
* Shopping excursions, any afternoon.
* Makeover sessions, as schedules permit.
There are certain "standing activities", such as gaming, if you wish,
sightseeing, dining, people watching, and I'm sure much of the group
will gravitate to a certain piano lounge most evenings after other
events.

Roommate wanted:
Andrea from El Paso is interested in sharing a room.
> I would like a roomie for DLV '99, if one becomes available. My main
> concerns are a non smoker or someone who would not smoke in the room.
Those interested can contact Andrea at: ascott@primenet.com

> codes are.
As for weather, days in May tend to be warm to hot, and evenings are
moderately cool to very warm. A sweater will be necessary only on the
very coolest evenings in May.
As for actual dress codes, there are very few remaining. Casual is fine
anyplace but the ritziest clubs and restaurants. Casual to very casual
is the norm for the Strip, casinos, and tourist spots.
If you want to dress up, evening wear is appropriate in the evening at
casinos, shows, lounges, etc., but casual is still ok in almost all
places.
Hints: Dress down in the daytime, dress to blend in, not to stand out.
Wear comfortable shoes, even with evening wear. It can be quite a hike
from parking lots and valet drop-offs to showrooms and lounges.

So far it looks like we have people staying at Riviera, Stardust,
Westward Ho, and Imperial Palace. I've been told that Riviera is now
sold out for Tuesday the 18th., since they have a large group coming in
that day.
Checking with LV Reservation Systems (large room broker, www.lvrs.com),
for the dates of DLV, Palace Station (off Strip on Sahara) is still
lowest rate of all the nice places, followed closely by Quality Inn
(off Strip on Paradise) and Wild Wild West (WAY off Strip on
Tropicana), then by Stardust (north Strip) and Texas Station (WAY-WAY
off Strip on Rancho), then by Four Queens (downtown) and Boulder
Station (WAY off Strip on Boulder Hwy).
If you have good or bad experiences when making your reservations,
you might want to send them in here.

Room Sharing:
If you are interested in sharing a room to save $$$, please write to
this list (just hit reply if you are reading via e-mail, otherwise
write to: dlv99@geekbabe.com) and give the following information:
1. Your name
2. Means of contact, e-mail address or voice phone.
3. Important information about yourself, especially about any possibly
annoying habits you have, such as smoking, snoring, midnight CNN
addict, etc.
We will post this to the list, and potential roommates can contact each
other to make specific arrangements.
Please keep in mind that any room-sharing arrangements will be a good-
faith private agreement only between those directly involved, and that
I or any of the others cannot be responsible if there are any problems.

It appears that there will be a Mary Kay rep who has experience with
the t* community who will do private consultations and makeovers.
If you are unfamiliar with Mary Kay, the makeover and consult is
free, but their goal is to sell you stuff. There will most likely
be other makeover options as well.

There were a few activity suggestions and such that came in after
the 1998 event. If these are still of interest to you, can those who
sent them in please "reconfirm" and send in a brief note to this
list.

We are again going to put together a list of recommended clubs,
businesses, etc., in Las Vegas that will welcome the business of our
people, and if anybody has any recommendations, please send them in,
especially if they are new or not well known in our community.

Travel Agent:
This year we have a travel agent who is available to help you with your
air and other arrangements. She has worked with the T* community and
her agency is very T-friendly. Please feel free to phone or e-mail
her with your travel requests and questions. I've filled her in on
what the event is and what you will be looking for, such as low-cost
round-trip airfare and possibly air-hotel deals.
Her name is Jade Nebiker, and her agency is Dream Catcher Travel.

Airport pickup:
I'm willing to pick up anybody who is attending at the airport (or
train/bus station). I'll need to know your airline, flight number, and
arrival time. I'll be arriving in LV Friday morning, so let me know if
you want a ride from the airport and I'll adjust my schedule to pick
you up.
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
Door Prizes:
As we did last year, we're soliciting donations of small items to be
given to the lucky (??) winners of a drawing. These can be useful in
nature, or humorous. Last year we had such things as an Epilady, a
home electrolysis unit, and some jewelry items.
We've had a couple responses on this already, so this may be a bit
more of a big deal this year.
If you wish to donate a prize, please write to dlv99@geekbabe.com
and describe your donation, and state if you want your donation to
be in your name or anonymous.
