Mailbag:
> How much are the shows, and what do you wear to them?
The shows that have been popular with the group are in the $25-$30
range per person. This price range is typical for the smaller
production shows, and quite reasonable compared to some of the more
elaborate shows. Siegfried and Roy is about $90, for example.
There are a couple "free" shows in LV. Remember, ya get what ya pay
for.
Most showrooms do not have dress codes anymore, other than maybe
something like "shirt and shoes required". You will see everything
from casual to formal at most shows.
> Will they
> let you "dress" for them?
Well, since there are laws against nudity .... {ok, ok, that one is
just about worn out ... } :)
I have yet to see anyone who is nicely dressed (in either mode) turned
away from any showroom. I would go as far as to say that going to a
show such as Boylesque or La Cage will be an opportunity to put on
the glitz a bit if you want. For the last two years, we've had people
dressed from casual to formal, and have always been treated well.

Here's the list of planned and proposed events and activities as it
sits now, which is *very very* preliminary. Dates/times are sometimes
noted for those that occur on a specific date/time.
IF YOU LOOK AT THE EVENT LIST, YOU WILL SEE THAT IT IS FILLING UP FAST,
ESPECIALLY FOR SATURDAY AND SUNDAY. IF ANYBODY HAS ANY ADDITIONAL OR
ALTERNATE ACTIVITIES FOR THE GROUP THAT CANNOT BE DONE MONDAY OR
TUESDAY, PLEASE SPEAK NOW, OR FOREVER ......
Please keep in mind that we want to schedule about four hours of slack
time prior to any "dress-up" activities in the evenings. This may seem
excessive at first glance, but believe me, in Las Vegas, in the real
world, it ain't.
* Welcome get-together Friday evening (T-friendly club, 7-ish).
* Kenny Kerr show Saturday night, Plaza Hotel (dark Sunday).
* Rocky Horror Picture Show. Saturday night (only), after Kenny Kerr.
(This showing has been confirmed.)
* Frank Marino show Sunday evening, Riviera (dark Saturday).
* Driving/walking Strip tour, Saturday afternoon.
* Hoover Dam tour, some afternoon, possibly Sunday.
* Legends In Concert, Monday Evening, Imperial Palace (dark Sunday)
* Trip to Rhyolite, some morning/afternoon.
* Shopping excursions, any afternoon.
* Makeover sessions, as schedules permit.
There are certain "standing activities", such as gaming, if you wish,
sightseeing, dining, people watching, and I'm sure much of the group
will gravitate to a certain piano lounge most evenings after other
events.

Roommate wanted:
Andrea from El Paso is interested in sharing a room.
> I would like a roomie for DLV '99, if one becomes available. My main
> concerns are a non smoker or someone who would not smoke in the room.
Those interested can contact Andrea at: ascott@primenet.com

Room Sharing:
If you are interested in sharing a room to save $$$, please write to
this list (just hit reply if you are reading via e-mail, otherwise
write to: dlv99@geekbabe.com) and give the following information:
1. Your name
2. Means of contact, e-mail address or voice phone.
3. Important information about yourself, especially about any possibly
annoying habits you have, such as smoking, snoring, midnight CNN
addict, etc.
We will post this to the list, and potential roommates can contact each
other to make specific arrangements.
Please keep in mind that any room-sharing arrangements will be a good-
faith private agreement only between those directly involved, and that
I or any of the others cannot be responsible if there are any problems.

It appears that there will be a Mary Kay rep who has experience with
the t* community who will do private consultations and makeovers.
If you are unfamiliar with Mary Kay, the makeover and consult is
free, but their goal is to sell you stuff. There will most likely
be other makeover options as well.

Did you remember to book your air early!
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
We are again going to put together a list of recommended clubs,
businesses, etc., in Las Vegas that will welcome the business of our
people, and if anybody has any recommendations, please send them in,
especially if they are new or not well known in our community.

Travel Agent:
This year we have a travel agent who is available to help you with your
air and other arrangements. She has worked with the T* community and
her agency is very T-friendly. Please feel free to phone or e-mail
her with your travel requests and questions. I've filled her in on
what the event is and what you will be looking for, such as low-cost
round-trip airfare and possibly air-hotel deals.
Her name is Jade Nebiker, and her agency is Dream Catcher Travel.

Airport pickup:
I'm willing to pick up anybody who is attending at the airport (or
train/bus station). I'll need to know your airline, flight number, and
arrival time. I'll be arriving in LV Friday morning, so let me know if
you want a ride from the airport and I'll adjust my schedule to pick
you up.

Door Prizes:
As we did last year, we're soliciting donations of small items to be
given to the lucky (??) winners of a drawing. These can be useful in
nature, or humorous. Last year we had such things as an Epilady, a
home electrolysis unit, and some jewelry items.
We've had a couple responses on this already, so this may be a bit
more of a big deal this year.
If you wish to donate a prize, please write to dlv99@geekbabe.com
and describe your donation, and state if you want your donation to
be in your name or anonymous.
