Whether you are boymode/girlmode all the time or part of the time is up
to you, your personality, and your individual comfort level. For the
last two years, some have remained in boymode all the time, some in
girlmode all the time and some have gone back and forth.
Last year, most of the group tended to dress casual during the day, and
anywhere between casual and very dressy in the evening. You will see
everything from jeans to sequins over the course of the event.
Hope I'm not getting too detailed here, but I'll list some of the
various activities and comment about what might be appropriate...
Welcome get-together: Anything from casual to moderately dressy.
Driving/walking tour of Strip: Casual, comfortable shoes.
Boylesque (FI show): Casual to dressy to glitzy.
Rocky Horror Picture Show: Anything goes! (really)
(If you're dying to wear something exotic in public, this is it.)
La Cage (FI show): Casual to dressy to glitzy.
Liberace Museum: Very casual to dressy.
Legends In Concert (Non-FI show): Casual to dressy.
Keys Lounge (piano bar): Casual to very dressy.
(Ditto for other nightclubs.)
Shopping and sightseeing: Very casual to casual, comfortable shoes!
Most casinos, lounges, restaurants, coffee shops, buffets, etc:
Casual (days), Casual to dressy (evenings).
In general, casual (boymode or girlmode) is fine almost anywhere in Las
Vegas. Casual is the norm during the day. Evenings can be casual to
dressy, depending on time, place, and circumstance. Days in May are
warm to hot, evening are cool to warm.
If you have limited luggage space, I would suggest bringing one or two
nice dresses for the evening affairs, and jeans or casual slacks and
tops or t-shirts that do not scream "male" or "female", which can be
worn in either mode during the day.
Also keep in mind that if you forget something, or want to try something
new, Las Vegas is a shopper's paradise! Las Vegas is also a "show town",
and it's very common for men to buy womens clothing and cosmetics, so
don't be shy about picking up something you want while in Las Vegas.

This issue has now come up for the last 3 years. I'm going to get an
authoritative answer this week from a (real) attorney.
> They said on the note about this event at cdformu.com {sic} that
> it's illegal to use the Ladies Room in Las Vegas.
> Do you ever have any trouble with this?
Disclaimer: I am not an attorney (nor do I play one on line :).
They tell me (the ubiquitous "they") that there is such a law on the
books. However, nobody has ever been able to give me a citation or
reference to the actual statute or regulation. The closest I ever
got was "well, so-and-so told me."
When this came up last year, I searched, to the best of my
non-lawyering ability, all the Nevada, Clark County, and Las Vegas
statutes, administrative code, and case law that I could find for the
subject "restroom(s)". I unearthed such trivia as the plumbing
requirements for restrooms, the fact that pay toilets are illegal in
state-owned buildings, many case histories of crimes involving transfer
of drugs in restrooms, etc. The only references to sex/gender and
restrooms I could find were building codes that required ".. facilities
for both men and women ...", or some such lingo, in some public
buildings. Nothing regarding 7-11 {ducking and running}. :)
I'm going to phone my attorney on this, and see if he can uncover
anything I missed. He's aware of who I am, and what DLV is.
I will say that I've never been subject to any hassle using any ladies
room ever in LV, nor do I know anyone personally who has.
I would like to get a definite answer on this, and I'm curious enough
to book an office consultation. If such a law is on the books, I wanna
know what it is and exactly what it says, and if there is nothing on
the books, I wanna know that too.

Roommate wanted:
Andrea from El Paso is interested in sharing a room.

It appears that there will be a Mary Kay rep who has experience with
the t* community who will do private consultations and makeovers.
If you are unfamiliar with Mary Kay, the makeover and consult is
free, but their goal is to sell you stuff. There will most likely
be other makeover options as well.

We are again going to put together a list of recommended clubs,
businesses, etc., in Las Vegas that will welcome the business of our
people, and if anybody has any recommendations, please send them in,
especially if they are new or not well known in our community.

Travel Agent:
This year we have a travel agent who is available to help you with your
air and other arrangements. She has worked with the T* community and
her agency is very T-friendly. Please feel free to phone or e-mail
her with your travel requests and questions. I've filled her in on
what the event is and what you will be looking for, such as low-cost
round-trip airfare and possibly air-hotel deals.
Her name is Jade Nebiker, and her agency is Dream Catcher Travel.

Door Prizes:
As we did last year, we're soliciting donations of small items to be
given to the lucky (??) winners of a drawing. These can be useful in
nature, or humorous. Last year we had such things as an Epilady, a
home electrolysis unit, and some jewelry items.
We've had a couple responses on this already, so this may be a bit
more of a big deal this year.
If you wish to donate a prize, please write to dlv99@geekbabe.com
and describe your donation, and state if you want your donation to
be in your name or anonymous.
