Last mailing to the list went out on March 22. It's been rather slow
since then as far as questions and feedback and such, although we have
had a number of additions to the list. Here's all that has been
happening since.

Age limits:
It's was brought to my attention that somebody on this list was
underage.
There are many resources available to transgendered teens, but DLV (and
this list) is not one of them.
If you are under the age of 18, you are asked to please unsubscribe
from this list. Those under 18 are not welcome to join us for this
event. Sorry, no discussion.
If you are of age 18 through 20, please read the notice in the DLV
FAQ very carefully before making plans to attend. Url is:

Sorry I have to be the "mean old lady" about this, but it's the law.

Room Prices: (Book in advance!)
People on the net have been reporting skyrocketing walk-in prices at
various hotels in Las Vegas on some recent weekends. In one case, the
desk would not honor a LA Times ad price, stating it was for advance
reservations only, and offered nothing less than $100 per night for
the couple. In another case, a reader wanted to extend his stay on an
$80-some room and was quoted almost $200 per night, the lower price
being for the advertised special and not for walk-ins or extensions.
Word to the wise, gang. Make your reservations in advance, and use a
special deal if you can find one. While the DLV weekend is not one of a
large convention, it still is not "off season" yet.
Prices are still good ($39/room/nite at Sahara, slightly lower at Key
Largo, slighly higher but still reasonable at Station properties and a
few others), but I would hate to see anybody get gouged on account of
simple procrastination.
Hint: If the direct hotel line quotes you a price that seems high,
check with a travel agent or room broker, such as www.lvrs.com.

We're working on a couple options now. Most likely there will be a
group having makeovers with a Mary Kay consultant and other options.
> and which hotel does everybody stay at mostly?
We have people staying at the Riviera, Westward Ho, Stardust, Imperial
Palace, Blair House, Sahara, and a few others I can't think of off
hand. Seems like the largest concentration will again be at the
Imperial Palace.

Continental Hotel:
LV rumor mill has it that the Continental Hotel and Casino (not
affilliated with Continental Airlines) may be closing in April. They
filed for bankrupcy some time ago. This is an off-strip hotel that has
gone through many owners over the past several years. I would not
recommend this hotel, even if it were known to be open for DLV.
