Glamour Shots:
>>If you mean portrait photographers, the local Glamour Shots is an
>>option for that and for makeovers. They are t-friendly.
>Say Annie, do you know how much that costs, about?
Makeover runs between $15 and $25 depending on the phase of the moon.
That is the only up-front charge. After that you pay only for the
pictures you like and want copies of. (They ain't cheap, however.)
I had a session with the Glamour Shots at Boulevard Mall in 1977. The
story appears at http://www.geekbabe.com/annie/gs.html and one of the
photos appears on my bio page http://www.geekbabe.com/annie/bio.html
Both Las Vegas shops welcome t-business. They do a number of shots for
those who audition for the FI shows and such. They ask that you come to
the shop in the mode you wish to present to the camera, meaning they do
not have changing facilities. Wear a top that comes off without messing
up your hair or makeup.
Since I had my session, they have a bunch of new features, like digital
enhancements and such. Check out http://www.glamourshots.com/

All of us know how you feel. It's ok, and natural to feel that way,
but trust me, that feeling goes away ... fast. :)
>However, my plan is to try it again anyway.
Great, and we're looking forward to having you again!
The important thing is that you've already taken that giant step, the
first step. This will make it much easier to take that second step,
and the third, and the next and the next ... (and never look back :)

If it's the WestERN, stay away, really, it's a major dump, it's only
one step above a by-the-hour fornicatorium. (If you ever listen to me,
please listen to me now. I would not feel safe in that place.) If you
want a downtown hotel, Four Queens, Plaza, and Fitzgerald's are not
much higher but are much nicer. There are a number of Strip and
off-Strip properties that are not that much more expensive but much
nicer. We have people staying at the Sahara and Westward Ho, which are
both quite reasonable.
All WestIN hotels are classy, but I don't know of any downtown, and
they never advertise fire-sale prices on local radio. Desert Inn and
Caesars Palace are affiliated with Westin.

>this project. Thank you for that.
You're very welcome, but I'll let ya in on a little secret if you
promise not to tell ... it's really not that much work. (Although my
spare bedroom HAS looked like a t-shirt factory the past day or so. :)
What I mostly do is a lot of conspicuous cheerleading (known in some
circles as Shameless Plugs<tm>) in order to get everybody in the same
place at more or less the same time. There's no real facilities planning
or anything, since we mostly meet in public places and attend events
that are already scheduled. That's why Las Vegas is great for this.

Stardust update:
For those who love the old Stardust motel rooms, they may be saved from
the wrecking ball, as the note from Boyd Gaming indicates.
However (comma) they are not gonna be available for DLV.
