Only 24 days left, gang!

Mary Kay:
We have two local Mary Kay reps, Ronnie and Beth, who are interested in
providing products and services. One of them will be out of town on
Saturday and Sunday, but the other will most likely be available for
makeovers those days if appointments are made in advance.
Ronnie has proposed an "open house" on Monday, either at a place we
provide or hers. I know a couple of you are gonna have suites for DLV,
and if anybody would like to hostess this, please speak up ASAP.
I'm copying a few paragraphs from her note to me ...
>Anyway, please let me know if you want to set something up for May
>17th. the best arrangement would be if you could provide a room with a
>large table and very good lighting. If not, we could do them here at
>my house. We would be available during the day on Monday (Beth has a
>babysitter until about 6PM every Monday) and I am free in the early
>evening (I have to be to work on Tuesday at 6:30AM). I would really
>like the opportunity to be of help and, of course, to sell some
>product.
>In fact, I have quite a bit of color cosmetics which I am discounting
>in an effort to reduce my very large inventory. There are great
>bargains to be had.
>The other possibility is an "Open House" where I could set up
>merchandise so everyone could browse and fill their bags with whatever
>they want to purchase. Then we could specify a time or times for
>facials or touch-ups or makeovers. Beth and I could handle as many as
>8 at a time if we have enough lead time. Any suggestions you have are
>also welcome. We're very flexible.
I've gone ahead and made a tentative "Mary Kay Open House" entry on the
schedule for Monday the 17th. I would like to hear any feedback (interest
or whatever) on this as soon as possible.

Vintage shops:
>Pardon me if this is off topic, but do you know anything about this
>Attic shop that they keep showing on TV? This is the one in the
>commercial where they say they don't take American Express. I think
>they've got all kinds of Vintage cloting and stuff.
If this is the place I'm thinking of, it's on Main St. between the
Strip and downtown. Not the best area of town, but by far from the
worst, and there are many other thrift shops in the area as well. One
of the local girls has told me it's somewhat pricey.
Experience has shown that most thrift/consignment/vintage shops will
be t-friendly. If you're interested, it might be worth the trip to
some of those shops.

>I hope it's not too late to sign up, I just heard about this on the WEb.
>I'll be staying over that weekend anyway, and I would like to get in
>some of the things. If it's too late, I'll understand.
[chomp]
No, not too late at all. History has shown that several make plans to
attend at what would normally be the last minute. We'll get you on the
mailing list, and this will give you an idea of what will happen. All
you really have to do is to show up at the Friday evening get-together.

Recommendations:
>One note - we did the Magical Empire Dinner Theater at Caesar's, en
>femme, and it was great and V was treated as a lady the entire time.
>It is expensive, tho - $75 per person, but food was excellent, wine
>included and several good magic shows.
Thanks, I'll pass this on, as some may want something more elegant for
food and/or an alternative to the shows most of the group will be
seeing.
>One last note - we would urge any and all of you to attend the Comedy
>Show at Maxims, which is just off the strip, down from Bally's. There
>is a terrific British comedian'illusionist named Nick Lewin and he is a
>hoot and a half. Cost is one drink, which is $4, and it is really worth
>the effort to see it. Maxim's is a nice little casino, good buffet and
>I would assume the rooms fairly reasonable. But the Comedy Max (1:30
>and 3:30 daily) with Nick Lewin is a must!
Thanks again, I'll pass this on.
