Only 12 days left, gang!
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
We're gettin down to the wire, gang! I envision two more regular
mailings to this list before the big weekend, one toward the middle or
end of the coming week which will have mostly what comes in between now
and then, and one very large mailing around next weekend which will
give such things as a detailed schedule, instructions to get places,
hints for making the most out of DLV, etc.
Anything after that will be only such things as schedule changes and
other important notes.

Airport pickup:
PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF YOU NEED A PICKUP AT THE AIRPORT AND HAVE NOT
RECEIVED A BRIEF NOTE FROM ME CONFIRMING DATE/TIME/FLIGHT ETC.
To be sure I'm not missing anybody, I've sent a brief e-mail note to
all those I've got on my list who needs a ride from the airport,
confirming date, flight, etc.
If you need a ride from the airport, and you haven't received one of
these, please accept my apology, and please send an e-mail note back to
me (a return message to the list will be fine, or annie@annie.net) with
the following info:
1. Date/time
2. Airline
3. Flight number
I'll try to meet you right at your gate. However, if I should be a bit
late (and your flight is on time), I'll meet you just outside the bag
claim area for your airline.
For those who don't know me by sight, I'll be holding a sign that says
"DLV" in big letters. (Galakewicz :)
If we should miss each other, I will try to house-page you under the
name I know you best. You can also phone or page me.
If you should happen to miss a connecting flight, and will be coming in
on another one (this happened in 1977), please phone or page me as soon
as you know your new flight information. (Numbers will appear in the
large mailing toward the end of this week.)

Mailbag:
>When are you going to tell us where the Friday get-together is to be
>held?
Unless things change, we will have it at Good Times Lounge at Tropicana
and Spencer. Confirmation and directions will be sent out in about a
week in a final large mailing of all kinds of stuff.
>Will there be a sortof "Diva Central" phone number where we can call
>during our stay to get the latest on where to meet that day, events
>scheduled, etc?
Yes, there will be a local number, plus I'll send out my pager number
to everybody. We'll be sending out a very detailed schedule this time,
with times, locations, approximate cost (if any), any hoops that need
to be jumped (like reservations) and suggested dress. This will come
out in the large final mailing.
>Since the girls are scattered all over town I assume there is some plan
>on making it easy for all of us to connect at the right time and at
>the right place.
Uh-huh, giving out a detailed schedule with explicit directions, along
with admonitions to watch the clock closely. :)
>All of the information needed to keep us together and on schedule could
>be given to all of the girls on Friday (printed memo), but I know some
>are coming later than Friday.
Well, I'm gonna be sending that out in advance, since I won't have a
printer there. However, if somebody wants to print out a few and pass
them out, I'm sure nobody will object.

FI Shows:
>>* Boylesque (Kenny Kerr) Saturday evening, 8:00pm
>> Plaza Hotel, Downtown (Foot of Fremont St.)
>>
>>* La Cage (Frank Marino Show) Sunday evening, 9:30pm
>> Riviera Hotel, north Strip
>If you had to choose one or the other, which would you choose?
That's a tough one! I've now seen both of them twice. Comparing the
first times I saw each (several years apart), I would have said that La
Cage had a bit more class and polish. However, last year, I think most
of us who saw both one day apart agree that Kenny Kerr was the stronger
of the two performances.
The shows are quite similar (both will probably use the worn-out
"ballroom" joke) but they are different enough so you will not be bored
if you see both.
Wow, uh, I don't really know what to tell ya. One suggestion would be
to see which one best fits into your particular schedule. Both are
about the same price. Boylesque (Kenny Kerr) will be in the big
showroom at the Plaza, while La Cage (Frank Marino) will be in a
smaller and more intimate setting at the Riviera.

>Will it really be necesaary for me to rent a car for myself? I
>don't want to pay $40 a day unless I have to, plus I'm nervous
>about driving, if you know what I mean.
Where are you staying? If you're anywhere in the Strip area, there will
most likely be easy rides with others to everything, especially during
the Friday-Sunday period. There's even somebody way south on the Strip
who can catch people at that end.
A rental car would be mostly for your convenience. You should be able
to get these for well under $40 per day for an economy or a compact.
Low $20's is what I usually pay thru Dollar or Hertz.

Mailbag:
> Where will everyone be meeting ?
Assuming you're going to be in Las Vegas by Friday evening, we will
have our welcome get-together most likely at a t-friendly lounge on
east Tropicana. Exact location, time, and instructions to get there
will be mailed out this week.
If you're not going to be in by Friday evening, phone or page when
you get in and you'll get instructions on how to join in on what is
currently going on. Numbers will be given out this week.
If you're going to be in before Friday, there will be a semi-official
Pre-DLV get-together Thursday evening.
