Casa d'Eon was operated by Susanna and Marie Valenti of New York City. It was originally a country estate that was expanded into a resort with the addition of several detached private bungalows and other various outbuildings. The resort was located in Greene County, in the Catskill Mountains on the edge of the popular resort area sometimes known as the "Borscht Belt." The complex was named after Chevalier d'Eon, a well-known crossdresser of historical note.
The resort was sold after the 1963 season due to cash flow issues.
