Flip Wilson Show
From GenderWiki
The Flip Wilson Show was a weekly comedy-variety television program which aired on the NBC Television Network from 1970 through 1974. The eponymous program featured the late comedian Clerow ("Flip") Wilson as the host, emcee, and lead performer.
Among Flip's recurring sketch characters was Geraldine Jones, an admitted alter-ego. Geraldine's presentation, while far from truly passing was sassy and assertive, as opposed to comic drag.
The program was cancelled in 1974 due to declining ratings.
Reruns, usually in the form of half-hour cut-downs are occasionally shown on various cable networks. The Best Of Flip Wilson is available wherever DVDs are sold.
