Later Cherrystone Clubhouse (lowest level, left) off Brighton Avenue

Cherrystone was a TG support and social organization serving metropolitan Boston and surrounding area.

The group's roots go back to 1969 when a Boston area chapter of FPE was formed. The group broke away from FPE in 1972 and adopted the Cherrystone name.

For several years the group maintained a "clubhouse" in the form of an apartment, first in the South End district and later in the Brighton neighborhood. This was used for meetings and social activities, as a changing facility, as a "safehouse", and was available at all times to Cherrystone's "keyholder" members.

Members of Cherrystone were instrumental in founding Fantasia Fair, which is recognized as the longest-running recurring TG event.

The name Cherrystone had no particular significance, it was used ("Jay Cherrystone") to obtain a telephone listing at residential rates.

The organization known today as the Tiffany Club spun off from Cherrystone in 1978.

Members of Cherrystone were also instrumental in the founding of IFGE.
