New idea for 2016 DLV

I am working on an idea for next year's DLV activities. We have had requests for more daytime activities with suggestion of returning to Shiloh Horse Rescue Ranch and the Red Rock Canyon hike. Both of those were excellent activities and great fun.
I like to do things that haven't been done before, to try new activities, and build on past successes. So I am thinking of combining activities... kind of! So how about a daytime horseback ride in Red Rock Canyon Park? If this sounds like fun to you let me know. I will be working on the details and report back when I know more.

A couple of past favorites which we haven't done for some time are Valley Of Fire and the Lake Mead boat tour. Both are a very easy drive and don't require much at all in the area of busy work.

One I've proposed a few times which never got any traction is a day trip to Zion National Park. It's backwards from most "canyon" parks in that you're at the bottom of the canyon looking up instead of looking down into it. The bad news is that it's about a 2 1/2 hour drive to get there.

In the past we've had successful longer day trips to Death Valley and Rhyolite (ghost town).

It's a good example of out-of-the-{feed}box thinking.

LOL!
My hay fever allergies make it not practical for me, even with a latex saddle.
I'm sure others will enjoy this one.
I just made hotel reservations for my next Vegas trip in August.
My list of things to check out include buffets and other new ideas.
Since I'm budget constrained, I will look for lower priced fun things to do, as well.

Baseball (watching), if that appeals to anyone [even gurls can like beisbol]; IF DLV falls during a home-stand for LV 51s @ Cashman Field; most likely evening (7:05) [but day games are sometimes scheduled]. Tickets from $12 (decent seats), parking reasonable, concessions what you might expect. This could involve no organizing at all, just forming up a herd & going. i have gone (by myself) several times (when the schedule was right) {{& quickly learned not to wear a low-cut blouse to a day game = sun-not-quite-burn} ops}. that was the only problem i ever had there.

The Las Vegas Symphony can work out, although we missed it by a week or
two this past year. The complication is they often play on Saturday
night, which would cause it to fall a day early or late on the official
schedule. Still, it is an excuse to dress up and attend something
cultural.
