Welcome and Happy Holidays:

Welcome to those who joined our mailing list in the past few months. If
you have any questions or concerns, please let us know.

Diva Las Vegas 2014 is scheduled to run from Sunday, March 30, 2014 thru
Friday, April 4. We sincerely hope that all of you can make it.
. . . . .

Unless something unforeseen occurs, this will be the last general DLV
mailing during the 2013 calendar year. Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah,
and Happy New Year to you and yours from the organizers and volunteers
of Diva Las Vegas. :)

Our regular mailings will resume in early January.
. . . . .

Those who have attended DLV in recent years can expect their express
re-registration e-mail earlier than in previous years, mid December. See
further details on timing and things to come below.
. . . . .

All photos from DLV 2013 are now on line. See the Previous Years section
of our web site at:

http://www.geekbabe.com/dlv/

A total of 2049 photos appear on our DLV 2013 follow-up pages, an
all-time record! Big thanks go out to all who sent in photos for our
DLV 2013 follow-up pages.

Hotels for DLV 2014:

Our DLVORG group has decided, by consensus, to suggest the following
hotels for Diva Las Vegas 2014 attendees:

1. Harrah's Las Vegas
2. Tuscany Suites
3. Paris Hotel and Casino

Further details on our suggested hotels appears on line here:

http://www.geekbabe.com/dlv/2014hotels.html

Harrah's is our lower priced option for this year and Paris is our
higher-end option. Tuscany is suggested particularly for those who wish
a smaller property and may be a bit shy of such things as crowded hotel
lobbies and elevators.

As always, there's no requirement that you stay in our suggested hotels.

One caveat that we're emphasizing this year is that if you will be
needing local transportation to and from DLV activities, we very
strongly suggest that you stay in or in the vicinity of our suggested
hotels in order to share rides with others. Please do not be "penny wise
and pound foolish" by staying in an out-of-the-way bottom-dollar hotel.
Additional transportation costs can very easily wipe out the savings!

If none of the suggested hotels are appealing to you, please look at
the "Casino Hotels" and "Non-gaming Hotels" sections of our Big List
on the web at:

http://www.geekbabe.com/dlv/vendors/

Several other hotels in Las Vegas on the list are rated highly.

Activity updates:

Big thanks go out to our volunteers for being "way ahead of the power
curve" this year regarding planning! We will have a very full and rich
calendar of activities this year, including some new ones and some new
twists on old favorites.

On Monday afternoon of DLV week we'll have a special "New Attendee
Welcome and Orientation" just prior to the evening activities. All who
are new to Diva Las Vegas, whether experienced or not, whether local or
from out of town, are encouraged to attend. You'll be able to meet the
others, get a general handle on things to come, and address any
questions or concerns that you may have.

On Monday evening we'll have our big Welcome Celebration, bundled with
Happy Hour and Dinner.

We'll have three daily recurring activities this coming year, which will
be Katie's Koffee Korner (at a later time, by request) in the morning,
Lunch With Ginger (or a daily alternate host or hostess), and Late-Night
Dancing, which is now adopted as a recurring nightly gathering.

We will be bringing back the previously-popular Night Of The Soiled
Doves for 2014. This will be reasonable in cost and will have an
expanded capacity limit.

Our Erotic Heritage Museum reception will be expanded to include the EHM
Fantasy Ball, with a costume party and dance, a repeated "Dr. Victoria"
session, swap meet, and cash bar.

We have a very special Sunday evening planned, centered around downtown
Las Vegas, with a Scavenger Hunt, multiple dining options, and various
activity options.

On Friday we'll have our big blowout Farewell Celebration, again with
Happy Hour and Dinner, followed first by dancing and later by late
night clubbing.

Further details on our scheduled activities will appear in our mailings
beginning in January.

Things to come:

The start date of March 30, 2014 for our annual event makes this year
the earliest that our event has ever occurred within the calendar year.

The earlier start date means that several of our yearly milestones and
checkpoints will occur earlier in the year than they have in the past.

Here's a partial list of the various dates of significance:

Mid December: Re-registration for previous attendees opens. Those who
have attended in recent years will receive a personal link via e-mail to
do a quick re-registration for the 2014 event. These will go out on or
about December 27. If you've previously attended and do not receive
this, there will be instructions on how to manually re-register in our
next general mailing.

If you've attended before and don't receive this, please don't consider
it to be a snub! There are many reasons why re-registration e-mails are
not sent, many of them having to do with changes in e-mail addresses.

Saturday, January 11: DLV 2014 new attendee registration opens for
members of this mailing list. If you're reading this via your own
personal e-mail, this includes you.

Saturday, February 15: General registration for DLV 2014 opens.

On or about March 8: Activity sign-up opens. Activity sign-up is where
you tell us which of the many optional DLV activities you want to do.
Further information about activity sign-up will appear in later
mailings.

Wednesday, March 25: Registration closes, activity sign-up closes,
Large Final Mailing goes out.

Sunday, March 30: Diva Las Vegas!

DLV Big Sister Program:

We at DLV currently use a "team" concept to manage the Big Sister
Program, and the following individuals (in alphabetical order) have
volunteered to be part of the Big Sister Team:

Bev
Bob
Darlene
Delaney
Gabi
Vera (nee' Rosada)

Delaney will be taking the lead and will hold the position of Big Sister
Coordinator on our Administrative Committee.

We will also be offering Big Brothers, assigned on a case-by-case basis,
to those who need them. These are available to men who attend DLV either
solo or with a partner.

Bob, on our Big Sister Team, will be overseeing this aspect of the Big
Sister and Big Brother Program.
. . . . .

The main functions of the Big Sister Program will not change. Our Big
Sister Team will be personally matching Big Sister and Brother
volunteers with those who request them.

It's natural to be nervous before heading to an event such as Diva Las
Vegas, particularly if you're new to the TG scene and don't know any of
the others yet.

The Big Sisters (and Big Brothers) of Diva Las Vegas can help!

Big Sisters (and Brothers) are volunteer DLV veterans who are standing
by to help as needed, either prior to DLV, or during DLV.

Big Sisters and Big Brothers are intended mainly for those who are new
and don't have much public exposure, or those who may be feeling a bit
uneasy about the upcoming trip, but Big Sisters and Big Brothers are
available to anybody who wants one.

If you haven't been out in public at all, if you're new to public
exposure, your exposure has never been in the mainstream before, or if
there's any reason you feel uneasy or uncertain about the upcoming trip,
the Big Sisters and Big Brothers are here to help, either before DLV,
during DLV, or both.

Before DLV, if you would like to correspond with somebody one-to-one
about concerns regarding DLV, just send a brief note to:

bigsister@geekbabe.com or
bigbrother@geekbabe.com

. and say that you would like to get in touch with a Big Sister or
Big Brother.

Examples of concerns might be questions that you don't feel comfortable
asking on one of the mailing lists, a request for an honest fashion
critique, etc.

During DLV, if you need some advice on any number of topics, Big Sisters
and Big Brothers can help.

If you are uneasy and can't get the nerve to walk out of your hotel room
(this has happened), phone us, we'll have a Big Sister or Big Brother
meet you, assure you, and escort you if necessary.

These are only a few example of how our Big Sisters and Big Brothers
can help!

Also, if you have attended DLV in the past and would like to volunteer
to spend some time helping others, please say so and volunteer to be a
Big Sister or Big Brother. (Just reply to this mailing or e-mail
bigsister@geekbabe.com and state you would like to volunteer to be a Big
Sister or Big Brother.) The primary qualification is the desire to help
others.

You can also sign up to request a Big Sister, or volunteer to be a Big
Sister on the web as you register.

To request a Big Brother or to volunteer to be a Big Brother, please
e-mail us (bigbrother@geekbabe.com) and we'll handle things on a case by
case basis.

For any questions or concerns about our Big Sister and Big Brother
Program please e-mail: bigsister@geekbabe.com

One standing rule change:

Although this is a fairly significant change to our Standing Rules,
this will have minimal effect on our current and recent attendee base.

The minimum age for Diva Las Vegas is now 21. Las Vegas is a "21 and
over" town, and in the past when those under 21 have attended, they have
never been able to fully participate. All under-21 individuals who have
previously participated will now be of age, so this rule change has no
lock-out effect on anyone who has previously participated.

This motion carried, unopposed, by our ORG group in November.
