Suggested Hotels for Diva Las Vegas 2014

(Last updated November 19, 2013)

We make hotel suggestions primarily for those who are unfamiliar with Las Vegas hotels, those unsure of which hotels are TG-tolerant, and those wishing to stay in the immediate proximity of other DLV attendees.

The hotel suggestions for DLV 2014 are just that, suggestions. There's no requirement that you stay in our suggested hotels.

Although all have been known to provide good service and to treat members of our group the same as all other guests, there are no guarantees of attitude or satisfaction.

In the event that none of the suggestions on this page meet your needs, please check out the Casino-Hotel and Non-gaming Hotel sections on our Big List for other possibilities.

Please consider when selecting your hotel:

Be sure to be aware of your "total cost of ownership" of your hotel room when selecting a hotel for Diva Las Vegas! There are known, not so well known, and consequential costs in addition to the posted nightly rate.

  • Please do not be "penny-wise and pound-foolish" if selecting a lower-priced hotel which is located far away from where the majority of the DLV attendees are staying. This is of particular importance if you will be needing transportation to DLV activities. The additional transportation costs (taxi, etc.) can easily negate the savings of staying in a bottom-dollar hotel.

  • When comparing rates, please consider that most Las Vegas hotels, including all of our suggested hotels, include a mandatory "Resort Fee" ranging from a few dollars per night, to several dollars per night. Be aware of all taxes, fees, incdental charges, etc., which add to the cost of your room.

The following hotels are suggested for DLV 2014 attendees:

(in alphabetical order)

  • Harrah's
  • Paris
  • Tuscany

So, what's the story with The Quad (formerly Imperial Palace)?

The Quad (nee' Imperial Palace) has appeared on our list of suggested hotels for many years.

The Quad is still under transition, in conjunction with the Linq Project, a major center-Strip entertainment undertaking. Remodeling efforts are expected to continue throughout the DLV 2014 period.

There is still too much ongoing activity as of this time for us to suggest The Quad (IP) for DLV 2014 attendees. We are suggesting instead, Harrah's, next door to the IP, as our center-Strip lower-priced hotel option this year.

A few notes on each hotel, including each hotel's official web site.

Harrah's:

Harrah's is a very large midscale casino-hotel located in the heart of the Center Strip, just north of The Quad (Imperial Palace) and the Linq Project, including the observation wheel.

The "Flavors" buffet is excellent and a DLV favorite!

The adjoining Carnaval Court offers attractions and entertainment day and night.

Harrah's is our strong suggestion for DLV 2014 attendees who wish to share rides to DLV activities with others.

Very attractive hotel rates have been reported!

Paris:

The Paris is a very large upscale hotel-casino located just south of the "Four Corners" Flamingo-Strip intersection.

The Paris is the first major Strip hotel to actively invite LGBT business (note that they have included the T).

The Paris is very nice, but not cheap! It also tends to be crowded, particularly on the weekends. Countless shops and eateries grace the property. The Eiffel Tower is a major attraction and offers a spectacular view of the Strip!

One caveat: Although the Paris promises that their staff will be TG-friendly, this is a very large casino-hotel and tends to be crowded at times.

Request: Even though Paris avows to be LGBT-friendly, we ask that you follow restroom guidelines closely if you choose to use public restrooms on this property. Please help set a positive example of Diva Las Vegas and the TG community in general.

Tuscany:

They say that all of their rooms are "suites", but many say that they are simply large hotel rooms!

The Tuscany Suites is a smaller midscale casino-hotel located just east of the Las Vegas Strip on Flamingo Avenue. The Tuscany rooms are spread about in several low-rise buildings instead of taller hotel towers. This makes the Tuscany ideal for those who do not wish to enter and exit by way of a crowded hotel lobby.

The Tuscany is not recommended for those who will not be driving a vehicle and do not have pre-arranged rides to DLV activities. Taxi service can be spotty at the smaller off-Strip hotels such as Tuscany.
