I'm copying this to the DLV Discussion Forum since others may have
similar questions or concerns.
. . . . .

Unfortunately we don't have one common file of activity descriptions,
they are kind of scattered about.

There are two things I would recommend if you want to get more
detail on our activities.

1. The "Past Years" section of our web site. A picture is worth
a thousand words and there are several thousand pictures on line.

2. Current and past years "activity highlights" items in the
various mailings.

We do regular "activity highlights" in the DLV Discussion Forum, which
cover some of them. It's on line at:

http://www.geekbabe.com/dlv/dlvdisc/

Until about two years ago, we did these in the mailing list. They may
a bit elusive, so I have provided the links to the items you had
particular questions about.

A good one to look at for NSD is the original activity highlight
for the first NSD at:

Photos of the Night Of The Soiled Doves appear at:

A good project for the off-season might be for one of our
volunteers to collect all of the past activity articles
and get them indexed. :)

I will assure you of this. Even though you might not know anybody
else who is coming before you get there, you will be among friends
and you will not be an outsider by any means. Most of our people
attend solo. It's a very congenial and inclusive group.

>My main concern is that there may be times with nothing to do
>but throw money at a slot machine.

You will most likely have the opposite problem, that being finding
a few free minutes to sit down and relax and play a slot machine. :)

For most of the days, there's something going on from the middle
of the morning into the wee hours of the next morning. There's a
daily lunch and subsequent walk-off, daily happy hour, most evenings
have some kind of a meal option or options, and all kinds of things
going on at night. Some of these will be small groups, and others
will be a major mob scene.

If you want any details on any specific activities, please ask.
