Golden Gate (Sal Sagev) is still there. It's an institution! It ain't
goin' anywhere soon.

They tell me (the ubiquitous "they", actually the reports from the
Gaming Commission which track slot payouts) that this is a true
statement.

The only real trashy ones I can think of right off hand are the Gold
Spike and the Western.

LOL - a while back somebody actually submitted the Western as one for
our "Big List", and I think it's about the only thing I've ever
rejected for that.

The El Cortez has an "Old Vegas" gritty feel to it, but it's perfectly
save. Just don't wander to the east of that block. :)

You will have to ask Densie about Lester. She's the one who keeps in
contact with him.

But seriously, the FSE area is quite safe. We've had people go down
there almost since day one of DLV. No incidents that I'm aware of.

I think as long as you stay within a block or so of Fremont and don't
wander east of the El Cortez you will be safe.

I would emphasize the rule about not hanging around in groups, however.

There is supposed to be a new drag-theme club opening up downtown Real
Soon Now, around Carson and 1st. iirc. They originally tried to lease
space in Neonopolis, but the then-management of Neonopolis snubbed them,
saying it didn't fit their "image" or at least what they thought their
image was. Apparently Neonopolis is now under new management, but the
club promoter already signed a lease for a property closer to the main
FSE area. At least that's what "they" tell me. :)

Oh well ... :)
