There were no objections to Ann Sathers as the place for Saturday dinner
so I think we can say that's a done deal.
A few loose ends and things ...
1. Saturday breakfast/brunch location. About the only place I know of in
the area where I've eaten breakfast is the coffee shop at the Holiday
Inn at Ohio and Fairbanks. I know there is (was?) a HoJo on LaSalle up
north of Ontario, and they usually have a good coffee shop, but I have
not visited that one personally.
Suggestions?
2. Sunday farewell breakfast. Location? Any suggestions?
3. Saturday afternoon. I had placed some touristy stuff on the slate,
but others had mentioned shopping at some specialized places. I want to
do what will get us the most participation. The time is too short and
Chicago is too nice a place to have people sitting in hotel rooms.
Also, all of us don't have to do the same thing Saturday afternoon. If
we have some who just *have* to do the Aquarium but will not be caught
dead shopping, we can have part of the group do that, and others can go
shopping. I would like to see maximum turnout, both from those coming
in, and those local, for both the daytime and evening activities.
Comments, please.
Anyway, here's the third draft schedule for your review:
Friday, October 18: Afternoon: Shopping (Water Tower, Mag Mile)
Evening: Dinner (Ed's)
After: Baton Show Lounge and/or Gentry/State
Saturday, October 19: Morning: Brunch (location TBD)
Afternoon: Aquarium/Planetarium
Evening: Dinner (Ann Sathers)
After: Bar/club tour (Halsted/Belmont)
Sunday, October 20: Morning: Farewell breakfast (bibi - sniff/sob)
