It's quiet. Too quiet.... Line from some movie or video game
Tuesday there were 9 messages about restaurants, and then dead silence
on this list since then. Is everybody just working very hard or is this
silence a sign of confusion? :-)
I don't mind admitting that I haven't a clue about where to eat now on
Saturday. The one place I had definite experience with appears closed,
the place that sounds most interesting (to me) clearly has a horrible
reputation and reviews, and no place else seems to get much of a ringing
endorsement with the possible exception of the place Annie mentioned
(Ann Sathers?) Is it too late to hijack a hot-dog vendor stand from
Wrigley?
The good news is that we don't have to decide today. If we have to
trust to luck and location, then I personally would like to eat at a
restaurant in the gay community. That way, if the food's bad, at least
we don't also have to put up with a potentially hostile environment
also. (Yes, I know that t-girls sometimes get a lot of snubs from
individuals in the community, but it's highly unlikely that we'd have
trouble in a restaurant.) I think that Jana or somebody pointed out
that we're going to be a little tired by Saturday night and not in the
best frame of mind to push the envelope in the "real world" (gently
ignoring all the real world stuff we go through just to get to this
nirvana of a restaurant).
