pinkfest Poll results, loose ends, and second draft ...

Here's the results of our straw poll for Saturday evening, points added
up for each activity:

Bar tour (Halsted/Belmont): 62
Hunters Dance Club: 54
Gaming: 30
Rocky Horror Picture Show: 18

In light of this, I'm gonna suggest that we plan a tour of the Halsted
area bars as our primary activity for Saturday evening.

Remember that all of us don't have to do the same thing, so if some
people absolutely can't go without Hunters or RHPS, they can of course
do that, but it would be nice to get all of us together that evening.

As we've discussed previously, there are more things to do than there is
time to do them. If we extend Pinkfest next year, we will not have these
close decisions to make.
. . . . .

Loose ends:

We need a place to eat for dinner Saturday. I would like to throw these
three to the group for discussion:

1. Chicago Chop House. This is a few blocks west of where Shuckers was
and I've always wanted to try this. I have ABSOLUTELY NO CLUE as to how
t-friendly or t-oblivious they are.

2. Ann Sathers. This is the only restaurant in the Boystown (Halsted)
area that I keep hearing good comments about. I've never eaten there,
but if it's in that area, it has to be at least oblivious or there would
be flame comments about it. This is apparently a second location of a
very popular restaurant in the Andersonville area.

3. Carson's (Clark & Ridge). The group ate here for Pinkfest 2001 and I
took some relatives there a few weeks ago. This is one of my favorites
in the Chicago area, and is usually not too crowded on Saturday.

4. If you know of any other places, please put them on the table.
. . . . .

Breakfast Sunday:

We need a location for our Sunday farewell breakfast. There's an IHOP
on Diversey just west of the Kennedy. Unless somebody has an alternate
suggestion, let's plan on doing that.
. . . . .

Saturday afternoon:

I had previously suggested some touristy things (Planetarium/Aquarium)
for Saturday afternoon. I'm not married to this, though. I want to see
us do what would get most of the people out and together as possible.
We don't have to all do the same thing, but I wanna go for maximum
participation of both day and evening things.

Comments?
. . . . .

Anyway, here's a second draft schedule ...

Still, nothing in stone.

                      Evening: Dinner (Ed's)
After: Baton Show Lounge and/or Gentry/State

                      Evening: Dinner (location TBD)

. . . . .
