11 days out:

This mailing is very short, mainly because most everything is set in
place and on track.

The one thing we ask for that becomes more and more important as we
approach our big event is that everyone please check your email
frequently, and respond promptly to anything that needs attention.

Activity sign-ups continue to come in and at this time you can probably
assume that about 3/4 of the sign-ups that will come in, are in. Those
attendees who do the activity sign-up later in the process tend to sign
up for fewer of the optional activities.

Out of the 161 registrations (individual or couple) which we currently
have, 97 of these are in and 59 are sitting down in the "second notice"
category, meaning they have shown no sign of life to the various notices
to sign up for activities. This is somewhat higher than we've seen in
recent years, but not out of the ballpark. If the patterns hold for this
year, around half of those who have shown no response will not be seen.

The rest (few this year) are in various other states, which is showing
that those who are responding are responding more or less promptly.
. . . . . . . . . .

For some reason, this year we're seeing far more queries and such
regarding informal attendees and unregistered guests. "She's with me."

If there's a need, we can circle back to the topic of "authorized
guests" and "parties of more than two" again during the slow season, but
for now we're asking that if someone wants to tag along with you, please
ask him or her to register using the usual procedure.

Your understanding and cooperation are appreciated.

Activity capacity update:

Over this past weekend, Topgolf flipped into a full state, which was
expected. Margaritaville and Virgil's have flipped into full since the
weekend. Due to the expected fall-out rate, none of those will probably
fill to the point that anyone is turned away, however.

Ruth's Chris is getting close to full but still has a couple of spaces.

As noted before, Carmine's, Big Lift Bar Crawl and Trevi are full.

It will be interesting to see how many follow through and pay for the
Big Lift, since it's a new activity this year.

Golf update:

Cassandra writes:

Well, golf has a lot of breathing space... lol.... I emailed the golf
course already and let them know we aren't getting the response we were
expecting. We had 16 last year which was low and 8 of them from last
year aren't golfing this year so I am guessing we might end up with
10-12 or so.

We have 9 signed up so far with 4 paid including me.

Kind of hard to really have a "tournament" with those numbers so I am
coming up with some additional fun ideas to make sure everyone has a
great time even if its small.

I had dinner last night with the 4 that have paid (they are all Rose
City Tgirls) and they are excited either way and it will be a fun day.
I am more concerned how the Sunrise Golf Club will feel about it going
from 24 down to 10-12. The guy that set it up really went out of his
way to get our group a special deal. I don't want him soured for future
events.

Annie responds:

Thanks for the report, Cassandra.

I'm very surprised at the lower response to golf this year. Golf has
been one of our most popular activities throughout the years.

I know it can be discouraging when an activity you are sponsoring has a
low sign-up or turnout. I've had two of them myself in recent years. I
struggled to do awkward explanations to one vendor last year when the
number of bodies walking through the door was far less than expected. :(

I'm not a golfer, but I sure hope that this year's golf sign-up is a
one-off and not a trend! In any case, we do appreciate you taking it
over and running with it.

High Tea, again one of the more popular activities over the years is
also slow in sign-ups this year. This is surprising, as with golf.

There is one other activity which has a surprising low sign-up number,
but that one has three "default" participants so nobody will be
disappointed I'm sure.

Most of the others have numbers well within the expected range. The two
major gatherings have sign-ups right along the line with what we've been
seeing in recent years.

The various social, recreational, and participatory type activities are
mostly showing very respectable sign-up numbers.
