This mailing:

This is being sent out early due to the volume of material received in
response of the last ORG mailing and fact that we're still in catch-up
mode and we need to make some decisions to allow quite a few things to
move forward.

Thanks to all who responded and volunteered! We're definitely making
progress.

Registration headcount currently sits at 86, up from Wednesday. New
registrations have been coming in about three per day. "Warm newcomer"
registration will start as of Saturday's general mailing.

Speaking of registration (HINT!) there are a few who have been active in
the conversations here who have not registered yet. :) If you've lost or
misplaced your re-registration email or your number, just write in and
we'll get things on track.

Where things stand:

Our number-one job needs to be selecting the evening for the second
major gathering. Please see Marisa's note below. Comments, please! (And
no, by commenting you won't get strong-armed into volunteering. We have
two volunteers for it already.) :)

Our number two job is to make plans for, hopefully two, mid-scale
activities to anchor two of our evenings. As of this writing, Tuesday,
Wednesday, and (Thursday or Friday) are available for these.

In recent years our anchor activities have included Night Of The Soiled
Doves, Kings Of Hustler (see below), Erotic Heritage Museum (see below)
and the Limo Tour. We have (at least) two volunteers to do the Limo Tour
this year, so that one is quite possible. If this happens, we still need
one more volunteer.

The scheduling of the anchor activities will determine which evening(s)
will be left for a multi-track "Eating Out Night" type of evening.

Comments please! :)

Laundry List:

MUCH shorter this time. Thanks for the prompt responses! :)

Katie's Koffee Korner is covered for Friday but still needs hosts or
hostesses for Sunday and Monday. The only qualification is to be awake
at the hour. :) It can be renamed to {YOUR} Koffee Korner if you like.

Lunch With(out) Ginger needs hosts or hostesses for Sunday and Tuesday.
Again, this can be renamed Lunch With {YOU} if you like.

Three sessions of Late Night Dancing will need a host(ess). Three nights
are spoken for but the exact evenings are not in stone. All evenings can
be said to be available. Your choice! Your choice of venue too.
. . . . . . . . . .

U-Drive Exotic Car Racing: Zoe? (Cami? Stacy?) Will this or something
similar be repeated this year?

Creative Wigs activities: Cami? Will this be happening again this year?
This has been drawing decent-sized crowds for daytime activities, so we
should try to nail down at least the day and approximate time so other
activities can be worked around this.

Mainstream Clubbing: Valorie? Any plans for similar clubbing activities
this year?

Karaoke: Linda? Any plans or desire for Karaoke this year?

Downtown on Sunday:

Delaney writes:

I'm fine with downtown on Sunday. I expect to arrive that day about
noon, although air fares haven't cooperated just yet.
. . . . . . . . . .

Thanks Delaney.

Let's leave the discussion open for one more list cycle and if no
objections are received, let's consider Sunday to be a multi-track day
and evening centered around downtown.

Comments? Objections?

EHM:

Sherry writes:

I have consulted with Marisa about the EHM event before. But, that's it.
Have no contact info for the Doc or anyone at the Museum. Have had or
seen no discussions about this year's event.
. . . . .

Marisa Writes:

I would like to have someone else have the EHM event.
. . . . . . . . . .

Thanks, ladies.

Sherry and Stacy. It's yours if you want it. We have all of the contact
information if you need it.
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
Second large gathering:

Marisa writes:

I'll contact the OSB&B to see what deal can be had this year for the
farewell.

I would guess that there will be some discussion about having it on
Thursday or Friday because of the issue of some people leaving on Friday
because of higher room rates.
. . . . . . . . . .

Annie responds:

Thanks, Marisa.

Let's discuss the evening for this activity.

Cami had previously said she prefers Friday, but that was the only
comment received so far.

I personally think that, although Friday is more befitting for a
"farewell" gathering, Thursday would be better, from a participation
standpoint and also from a facility-availability standpoint.

It can be argued that since Cami has negotiated a reasonable and flat
rate at the Flamingo, there's no excuse to bail early. However, not
everyone stays at the Flamingo and not everyone will be able to take
advantage of the special rates. Historically our headcount peaks around
the middle of the week and drops off as the weekend approaches.

Personally, I think that Off The Strip was super last year, and if
anything like that could be arranged for this year, it would be perfect!

Comments, gang?

Dining and Drag:

Vera writes:

I'd like to host the Hof Brau dinner again... we love that place.

I'd also like to host a second dinner, perhaps a good Indian or Thai
Restaurant. I'll check what's available.

As far as the Drag Show goes are we having anything scheduled at the
Larry Flynt establishment? If not, i'll have to do a little research on
which bars would allow us to do a drag show.
. . . . . . . . . .

Annie responds:

Thanks Vera! :)

We have Hofbrauhaus on the list. It just hasn't been scheduled yet since
we don't know which evening(s) will be designated for multi-track
dining. Hopefully we'll have a decision shortly.

As for Thai, we've done Lotus Of Siam in Commercial Center previously. I
know there are other Thai places as well. Thanks for volunteering for
this! :)

Now, let's discuss drag, and please, everyone, feel free to chime in
(without worrying about being drafted). :)

It was my impression that Kings Of Hustler was kind of shelved when the
Erotic Heritage Museum reopened. It was also my impression that there
were some disappointments (both by our people and the KOH staff)
regarding the turnout and the bar sales at KOH the second year we did
this. (Comments or disagreements on that?) I do know that the crowd was
not as large the second year and people (including me, I needed a ride)
left relatively early.

Spotlight and Flex come to mind immediately as two venues which might
let us host a self-produced show in exchange for the bar business. Our
group should be well-known and in good standing at both. Spotlight is
far more conveniently located to where most of our people will be
staying.

I could also envision Erotic Heritage Museum allowing a self-produced
show as the entertainment du jour, should we do them as in the past and
used it as an anchor activity.

It's really up to you as to how you wish to pursue this.
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
Dancing:

Dionne writes:

> Dance Lesson: Dionne? Any plans for any kind of dance instruction
> items this year?

As previously stated, no dance lesson, the studio is closing, it was
removed from the Big List.
. . . . . . . . . .

Thanks, Dionne. We'll scratch it, for this year at least.
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
KKKK clarification:

Katie writes:

I am ok to do KKKK. = Katies Kosey Koffee Korner on...... 1). Tuesday.
2). Wed, 3). Thurs. and 4). Friday but not Sunday or Monday. Other than
that, Someone other kind soul is welcome to take up the charge if they
would like to ease slowly into a relatively simple event for their
future DLV's beginning this year as a co-hostess of the world famous
KKKK.and eventually taking over the reins.

I likely won't be around forever and KKK is a nice easy day starter for
the ladies of DLV who rise early in the AM and need company over a
coffee before venturing out into the bustling of Vegas.
. . . . . . . . . .

Thanks for the clarification, Katie. The Laundry List has been updated.

All: We still need a host(ess) for KKKK for Sunday and Monday if it is
to occur those days. Volunteers?
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
Ruth's Chris:

Sandy writes:

Sorry for the Delay in Responding Ladies.

Looks like things are coming together for a fun Diva 2017 woohoo.

It would be my pleasure to host a Ruth Chris Dinner. I would be glad to
contact them directly and start the as they say "get the ball rolling"

I see some gaps in our planned events please let me know how I can help.
. . . . . . . . . .

Annie responds:

Thanks, Sandy.

Ruth's Chris, with you as hostess, is definitely on the list but (as
with Hofbrauhaus above) we haven't placed it on the schedule yet due to
not knowing which evening(s) will be designated for multi-track dining.

That's one decision we need to make, and make soon, so please hold off
just a wee bit and we'll get this and several other pending items on the
main schedule.

As for "gaps", yes, there are many, as much of our daily strategy is
still being decided.

If you want to get involved with another activity, I know we'll be
needing volunteers to coordinate various things of all types, both day
and evening.

We also have you down as a tentative Limo Tour volunteer, should we go
for that for one our anchor activities.
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
Makeovers:

Lori writes:

What is required to organize the Nordstroms makeovers? I would be
interested in doing that.
. . . . . . . . . .

Annie responds:

Thanks, Lori.

This is really one of the simpler things to coordinate, as there's no
real busy work and it's all self-supporting by way of purchased items.

It would really be your call as to the venue. We used Macy's for this
through 2014 and Nordstroms for 2015 and 2016. Both of these (at the
Fashion Show Mall) are familiar with our group and welcome our business.

What's basically required is to make contact (either by phone or in
person) at the venue and talk to the staff about what you want to do.
Historically it's been agreed that those participating will buy a
minimum of $50 of products.

In the past for some years we've scheduled these in 45 minute sessions,
but lately it's been more informal, with an approximate headcount being
used.

In recent years we've done this on a "sign-up requested" basis via our
Activity Sign-up system. We can give you a daily (or actually hourly)
list of who and how many are signed up, and a predicted turn-out based
on our past no-show rate. That information can be conveyed to the venue
so they can adjust staffing.

Things like this have always been a win-win. Our people get to
experience a service that many would not do on their own and the venue
gets the sales from some very enthusiastic customers.

That's about it.
