This mailing:
This mailing, again, covers topics other than our "Celebration" on
Thursday.
We will have another special Celebration mailing coming out shortly,
probably tomorrow. Possibly later today.
Thanks to all who volunteered to coordinate activities! Our schedule is
starting to round out nicely. We still have needs for several various
items, so please read the Schedule Review below carefully.
New volunteers (and veterans as well), please look over the needed items
in the Schedule Review immediately below and decide what you would like
to do. This is your cue. :)
As of this morning we have 115 signed up to attend. SO count is now up
to 19. These numbers are still ahead of where we were at this time on
the calendar in 2014 and 2015. Mailing list joins are coming in at the
rate of about one a day. General registration will open next Monday.

Latest schedule review:
Let's go over the schedule once again, noting the places that need
attention, in particular.
Items where volunteers are particularly needed are marked by two
asterisks.
Before we go day by day, let's discuss a couple of recurring and
potential recurring activities.
+ 10:00pm: Late Night Dancing (your choice!) - ms
This currently appears on the schedule nightly, but only Monday at Paris
is in ink.
** We'll need volunteers to host(ess) Late Night Dancing Tuesday through
** Saturday.
It will be up to the hostess of the evening to select the venue for
these sessions. Paris is fine if you want it on your night, but other
venues are acceptable as well. This is a low-maintenance one for new
volunteers. All you really need to do is to select the venue and agree
to be there (on time, more or less, LOL) and welcome the others.
Mandalay Bay and {mumble - forget - LOL} have been mentioned as possible
alternatives to Paris.
. . . . .
Late-night clubbing.
There's probably the demand to do this more than once. Since the clubs
don't get going until the Late Night Dancing sessions are about to wind
down, there's really nothing to conflict with this, except maybe KKK. :)
As mentioned before, Kings Of Hustler could be one of the venues for
those who like this club.
. . . . .
Lunch With:
We had better luck getting better turnouts for Lunch With in 2015. The
only day when a poor turnout was reported was Golf Day, which also had
another scheduled activity besides Golf on the calendar during lunch
time.
Both the "regular" (Flamingo Buffet for 2015) setting and alternative
had decent turnouts.
Ginger is the default host(ess) of Lunch With, but every other volunteer
is eligible to take one or more sessions and re-brand the activity.
At this time we have one other Lunch With volunteer. See below.
** We are in need of "Lunch With" volunteers. This is a very easy one.
We'll be discussing the specific venues for Lunch With shortly.
. . . . .
Afternoon Social:
The only things that are planned along this line for this year are one
session at Carnaval Court and a possible afternoon volunteer and
prospective volunteer session.
We're not planning on scheduling this as a regular recurring activity
unless the volunteer commitment to host(ess)ing it is clearly stated.
. . . . . . . . . .
Now let's go day by day ...
+Monday, March 28:
+ 8:00am: Katie's Koffee Korner (Flamingo - Club Cappucino) - ms
+ 12:00n: Lunch With Ginger (tba) - ms
+ 5:00pm: New Attendee Welcome and Orientation (Bahama Breeze) - ms
+ 6:00pm: Happy Hour (Bahama Breeze) - ms
+ 7:00pm: Dinner (Bahama Breeze) - ms
+ 8:30pm: Welcome Celebration (Bahama Breeze) - ms
+ 9:00pm: Official Group Photo (Bahama Breeze) - ms
+ 10:00pm: Late Night Dancing (Paris) - ms
Monday looks very good, actually. There's room for some low-key things
in there during the day, but this will be an arrival day for many and
optimum turnouts cannot be expected.
We could do a set of BM/BE makeover sessions in the morning and/or early
afternoon. I would not suggest Monday for a "Doing Brows" or other type
of featured item.
. . . . . . . . . .
+Tuesday, March 29:
+ 8:00am: Katie's Koffee Korner (Flamingo - Club Cappucino) - ms
+ 9:00am: Diva Las Vegas Invitational Golf (Wildhorse Golf Club) - ms
+ 12:00n: Lunch With Ginger (tba) - ms
Tuesday morning/early afternoon would work for BM/BE sessions. A "doing
brows" type of thing would work here, keeping in mind that the golf
contingent would not be able to participate.
Tuesday afternoon (/me puts on an old Moody Blues album and cranks it)
would be great for something like the Pinball Hall of Fame. Cami, if you
don't want to do it this year, I (Annie) will take it. It needs to be
re-run this year!
Likewise, any other touristy, recreational, shopping, Art Tour type of
things, etc., could work for Tuesday afternoon.
+ 6:00pm: Happy Hour options (various) - nd
+ 6:00pm: Cami's choice (tbd)
+ 6:00pm: Ginger's choice (M&S) - ms
+ 6:00pm: Beverly's choice (tbd)
+ 6:00pm: Delaney's choice (tbd)
+ 7:00pm: Eating Out Night (various)
+ 7:00pm: Ginger's choice (M&S) - ms
+ 7:00pm: Delaney's choice (tbd)
+ 7:00pm: Beverly's choice (tbd)
+ 7:00pm: Cami's choice (tbd)
We can probably assume that Ginger's Choice will be McCormick and
Schmick. See below.
Tuesday, up through dinner, is looking nice and solid. However, all we
have after of any substance is one show.
+ 8:30pm: Evening activity options (various)
+ 8:30pm: Cami's Choice Show (tba)
+ 10:00pm: Late Night Dancing (tba) - ms
Tuesday evening is blank. We need things like another show, and Audrey
type of bar tour, etc., in here. Maybe a smaller-scale Big Wheel
re-visit would work in here too.
** We are in need of volunteers to host(ess) after-dinner activities of
** all types on Tuesday evening.
. . . . . . . . . .
+Wednesday, March 30:
+ 8:00am: Katie's Koffee Korner (Flamingo - Club Cappucino) - ms
+ 9:00am: Side trip - Shiloh Horse Rescue (Meet at Flamingo) - ms
+ 12:00n: Lunch With Ginger (tba) - ms
+ 2:00pm: Art Tour (Bellagio) - ms
Wednesday morning and afternoon are looking great. Thanks! :)
+ 5:00pm: Happy Hour (PF Chang Planet Hollywood) - ms
+ 6:00pm: Dinner (PF Chang Planet Hollywood) - ms
We will most likely be needing a second-track HH and dining option for
Wedneday. This could be plain or fancy. The Wednesday timeslot would be
good for a higher-end dinner since the PFC option is quite reasonable in
cost.
** We are in need of a volunteers to host(ess) additional HH and dining
** options on Wednesday.
+ 8:00pm: Erotic Heritage Museum (EHM) - mv
Things are moving on EHM.
Dionne has decided to relinquish her "first refusal rights" to
coordinate this activity. Marisa has "second refusal rights" as of this
time. It looks like Valorie and Linda will be involved as well. We will
continue discussion on the dlvadhoc list and perhaps move the planning
back here if circumstances warrant.
We could have some kind of a second-track option here up against the EHM
affair. However, nobody's gonna blame you if you want to attend the EHM
thing and not plan something else. :)
+ 10:00pm: Late Night Dancing (tba) - ms
See item above. :)
. . . . . . . . . .
+Thursday, March 31:
+ 8:00am: Katie's Koffee Korner (Flamingo - Club Cappucino) - ms
+ 9:00am: Pistol and rifle shooting (tba) - ms
+ 12:00n: Lunch With Ginger (tba) - ms
Thursday is probably the best day for a Volunteer Luncheon, if it is to
happen this year. Those for whom this is a priority, this is your cue.
+ 2:00pm: Creative Wigs Seminar (tbd) - mv
If history repeats itself, this will draw a very good daytime crowd. As
of this writing the venue has not been decided upon. No hurry, but this
is one hanging item of note.
+ 8:00pm: DLV 20th Year Celebration (tba) - mv
+ 10:00pm: Late Night Dancing (tba) - ms
+ 11:00pm: Flamboyance Drag Show (Flex) - sv
Thursday is shaping up nicely, assuming the plans for the 20th Annual
Celebration fall into place. :) Latest goings-on are in the special
mailings.
. . . . . . . . . .
+Friday, April 1:
+ 8:00am: Katie's Koffee Korner (Flamingo - Club Cappucino) - ms
+ 12:00n: Lunch With Ginger (tba) - ms
Something like a FISM Shopping Trip and/or Outlet Mall Shopping Trip
would be a good fit for Friday morning or early afternoon.
+ 3:30pm: Carnaval Court (Carnaval Court) - ms
Carnaval Court is a nice round-out for Friday morning.
We'll also need two or more HH and dining options for Friday evening.
** We are in need of volunteers to host(ess) HH and dining activities
** on Friday evening.
+ 9:00pm: Limousine Tour (tbd) - ms
We've also put in the Limo Tour on Friday because, well, that's about
the only evening where it fits. :) :) :)
Although the Limo Tour is the featured ("anchor") activity of the
evening second-track options are indeed welcome in this timeslot.
+ 10:00pm: Late Night Dancing (tba) - ms
See above. :)
. . . . . . . . . .
+Saturday, April 2:
+ 8:00am: Katie's Koffee Korner (Flamingo - Club Cappucino) - ms
FISM would work on Saturday as well as Friday.
+ 12:00n: Lunch With Ginger (tba) - ms
+ 10:00pm: Late Night Dancing (tba) - ms
Saturday is almost totally blank. See below!
** Several volunteers will be needed for Saturday.

Host(ess)ing a lunch:
Aejaie writes:
Hello,
As I've done in the past I'll be happy to host one or two of the lunches
if Ginger would like assistance. I would be happy to host Monday,
Tuesday and or Wednesday.
. . . . . . . . . .
Thanks Aejaie!
Please be thinking of which day(s) you wish to do this. Also please be
thinking of the venue(s) you want.

Whatever Happened to Saturday Night:
Annie writes:
We need comments on this one please!
We don't have anything (except for a possible Pre-DLV thing) on the
slate for Downtown Las Vegas this year, and I think that our final day,
Saturday, would be great for a slate of activities centered around
downtown.
I will volunteer to be the "General Coordinator" of the day, but this
will take several others to take charge of some of the activities which
will happen during the day and evening.
I envision something along the line of the day beginning with "Lunch
With" at a reasonably-priced venue downtown, then a couple of "touristy"
options such as Mob Museum, Neon Museum, Container Park, etc. in the
afternoon, followed by a multi-track HH/dinner (some low-cost, others
higher-end), then a general FSE session followed by an informal common
gathering at some pre-designated location. Late Night Dancing for that
evening could be right on FSE!
I'm running this up the flagpole to see how many salute it and how many
flip it the bird!
Comments please!

Parking:
Delaney writes:
Perhaps in this mailing or the next, we should include the information
that some casinos are charging for parking, just as a heads up to the
girls. This appeared today, but there have been a number of articles
since the first of the year:
http://laist.com/2016/01/21/a_dozen_casinos_in_vegas_will_now_c.php
. . . . . . . . . .
Annie responds:
In checking with the various LV chat boards, it's still very uncertain
as to the "when" of the MGM paid parking, meaning we don't know at this
time if it will affect our event this year.
Another big unknown is the "if" regarding the other big gaming company
(CET) on the Strip, which controls Flamingo, Paris, and others. This is
the one that could affect a significant number of our attendees.
Let's hold off on any announcement in our media until we get more info
regarding the "when" for MGM and more importantly the "if" for CET.

Restaurant:
Ginger writes:
If you are looking for a dining venue later in the week put me down for
McCormick and Schmicks, 335 Hughes Center Dr, Las Vegas, NV 89169. It's
emphasis is sea food, but it has great steaks, pricey but good and also
has a nice bar. It's a sister restaurant to Morton's as you likely
recall.
. . . . . . . . . .
Annie responds:
Thanks, Ginger! :)
M&S is a great choice. It looks like Tuesday will be the Eating Out
Night and I assume that's when you are thinking. It would also work on
Wednesday as a second-track option complimenting PF Chang or even
possibly on Friday. Your choice as to the day.
