Continuing DLV planning:

Even though this is our slow season, please continue to discuss and
suggest the activities to happen during our 2014 event. We have some
very good discussion below.
. . . . .

For those opposed to resort fees, this is your gentle nudge. :) We will
be deciding upon our suggested hotels in November. Those who wish to
find hotels who will go on record as not having them next March, please
do so prior to November.

EHM activities:

Marisa writes:

Sherry and I think that a broader theme for the EHM event would be more
inclusive and get more participation.Like "fulfill your fantasy". This
could be rockabilly, red carpet, lingere model or something your nervous
to wear in public for the first time.

The swap meet and "conversation with Dr Victoria" looks like a repeat
for the event also.
. . . . .

JoAnn writes:

How about having a red carpet and feature those who choose to walk it in
the same place as last years "Stripteaser's Platform", or at another
location in the museum. Also have a panel with score cards!

The theme -- Erotic Wear and Sensual Art.

Your thoughts.

Beverly responds:

Great idea JoAnn. Let me know if you need an MC.

Beading party:

Vera writes:

Cami, that's an excellent idea for an activity. Count me in. I do
beading as well. I find it to be very therapeutic and relaxing. The RV
park where we stay in Vegas, Arizona Charlie's on Boulder Highway, might
have a club house that is accessible to its guests. Let me check into it
to see if we can use it and I'll get back to you. Hugs, Vera.

JoAnn writes:

Location of the Beading Activity -- How about the LGBT Center?

Not sure about the wine, and being a non-alcoholic activity should not
be a negative if it is in the afternoon.
. . . . .

Annie responds:

I do know that The Center allows alcohol under some conditions. If you
remember, Carla's Boutique had it last year.

Atomic Testing Museum:

Kandi writes:

just thought I would throw this out there What do you think about
visiting The National Atomic Testing Museum?

The National Atomic Testing Museum is a repository for one of the most
comprehensive collections of nuclear history. As part of its mission,
the National Atomic Testing Museum seeks to collect and preserve a wide
variety of materials and artifacts relating to atomic testing, the
Nevada Test Site, the Cold War, and nuclear and radiological science and
technology. The current collection includes thousands of rare
photographs, videos, artifacts, scientific and nuclear reports and data
and one-of-a kind scientist collections. The National Atomic Testing
Museum's collection is fast growing and soon will include even more Cold
War artifacts including those of the men who worked at Area 51. general
admission is $14 + $6 for area 51 group rate of ten (min) 45 max. $10
Hours & Location" Monday-Saturday from 10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m." Sunday
from 12:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.755 E. Flamingo Rd.Las Vegas, NV 89119
702-794-5151
. . . . . . . . . .

Annie responds:

We've done the Atomic Testing Museum in the past but not in recent
years. It would work well as a daytime activity almost any day. It will,
of course, be up to those who volunteer to host(ess) such a thing as to
whether or not to pursue the group rates.

E-mail and forum clarification:

Kandi writes:

When someone posts on MyDLV forums, are those 'digested' and sent out to
DVLORG?
. . . . . . . . . .

Short answer: No. :)

Long answer: Here's a run-down of the various e-mail addresses and their
various forum connections, if any ...

dlv_at_geekbabe.com - This is the main general e-mail address for DLV
business. Items sent to this address do not appear on line unless they
are explicitly redirected. Most DLV queries and questions come in to
this address. Ginger responds to general items and Annie responds to
technical items.

dlvorg_at_geekbabe.com - This is the "organizational" mailing list, the
one you are reading now. It is archived on line but otherwise is not
associated with any forum. It's normally digested and sent out every 1-2
weeks but occasionally is set to immediate individual messages should
the need arise. All items pertaining to DLV planning should be sent to
this address.

dlvdisc_at_geekbabe.com - This is the "DLV Discussion Forum" and is gated
to/from both the MyDLV on-line forum and the "dlvegas" Yahoo group. This
is our only official public forum. One "rule" we have is that we do not
actively organize on the public forum, so anything organizational in
nature that comes in to it (if we catch it) is redirected to dlvorg. The
archives of this list (on MyDLV) contain over 7800 posts going back to
2002.

Those are the main ones. There are a few others as well of a very
specialized nature, such as the ad-hoc list currently used to plan our
2014 Welcome Celebration, another including those who volunteer to
proofread our general mailings and web site updates, and various other
ones which are turned on occasionally for planning various activities.

It's really helpful if everyone uses the correct address: dlv for
general correspondence, dlvorg for organizational items, dlvdisc for
public discussion, and specialized lists for relevant items, but we
will gladly redirect if appropriate.
