Where things stand:

We are now about 8 months away from the big event and for this time in
the cycle we are looking very good.

One of our major gatherings is all but solid and two very promising
options have been put on the table for our second major gathering.

Wheels are turning nicely on one of our "anchor" activities and wheels
are beginning to turn on another "anchor" activity.

Assuming all of these come to fruition, that covers the feature
activities for four of our six evenings.

Big thanks go out to those who, voluntarily and proactively, took the
steps necessary to get things going on these!
. . . . . . . . . .

What we would like you to do:

First of all, what are your opinions on the two options which appear
to be the favorites for our major opening gathering? Those are Firefly
Paradise (now in the old Mr B's space) and Buca de Beppo, most likely
the new one in Caesars.

Don't worry, you won't get jumped upon to coordinate anything if you
respond. :) We appear to have enough volunteers to take the lead on
either of the above. :) We need to know your preference so we can give
the volunteers some direction as to how to proceed.
. . . . .

Please continue the "Top 5" submissions. We're beginning to get a good
handle of which of the suggested activities are most popular with the
volunteers. We would like to have a "Comprehensive Top Five" list in the
near future so those who need ideas on what to plan will know what the
gang wants to do most.

Keep the "Top Five" selections coming.

We might think about a deadline for feedback to settle the five so we
can get them integrated into the planning.

EHM Costume Party:

Sherry writes:

Marisa and all. I would be glad to be involved in the EHM costume party.
But, not sure what that entails and it sounds like I will need some
direction in "theme" ideas. I would like to start with allowing risque
outfits as EHM is the only venue we can wear them in Vegas. But, don't
wish to step on any toes!

Please feel free to contact me to discuss this some more.
. . . . . . . . . .

In the event that any volunteers need to get together off line and
discuss things and don't have contact information for each other, please
write in and we'll get everyone together.
. . . . . . . . . .

JoAnn responds:

Sherry-

I'll give the "theme" some more thought. It should provide flexibility
for interpretation.

To start off--- "Girls of the Power Exchange" ??? Others??

Opening gathering:

Cami writes:

I would be willing to host the dinner at Buca di Beppo or to assist, as
I had the same idea when I saw it was being built at Caesars Forum this
year.

If it doesn't work out that it's the night for the welcome party then I
would definitely like to organize another night there. Let me know how I
can help.
. . . . . . . . . .

Annie responds:

Thanks for volunteering, Cami! :)

Right now what we need is feedback from the volunteers regarding what
way to go regarding our opening gathering. Hopefully we will have some
kind of direction in the near future.

Hiking, talent, etc.:

Bob writes:

If I can get Susan to go this year, I can pretty much guarantee a
Classic R n R night and probably a talent night.

My legs aren't getting any better, but I do miss Red Rock Canyon and
it's 13 mile loop, with hiking.

We haven't been to Mc Mullan's for a couple of years either and I don't
think we have ever been to Tommy Rocker's.
. . . . . . . . . .

Annie responds:

Thanks, Bob.

Both self-produced talent activities and outdoorsy things have not
happened for a while and are definitely in need.
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
Springs Preserve:

Cami writes:

I saw an ad for a place called Springs Preserve, sounds kind of like an
interesting place to go. You want me to check it out as a possible
event?
. . . . . . . . . . .

Yes, please do so. It appears that this would be a good low-impact
outdoorsy activity plus they have a cafe on site, so it could be
combined with a lunch.

Pole dance and related activities:

Kandi writes:

Just curious, what is Valorie looking for with dance classes?

There are clubs that offer partner dancing, such as Swing, Salsa or
Country Western. There is freestyle (without partner) dancing, as well.
Is she a teacher or has experience with theses styles of dancing? On a
different topic, Charlies Country saloon/club might be a good place for
dancing on Sunday or Tuesday
night.

http://www.charlieslasvegas.com/Mandalay has several clubs with dance
floors, as do many hotels.Maybe I can answer her questions from my
recent trip.
. . . . . . . . . .

Annie responds:

Historically, as far as dance-related activities, we've had formal dance
instruction at Arthur Murray a couple of times in the mid 2000s. There
was a brief interest in reviving this for 2013, but the would-be
Coordinator could not make it.

We've had informal dance activities at Charlies off and on over the
recent years, both on the nights they've done the lessons and otherwise.

The Pole Dance Instruction was an unquestionable hit this past April!
There will probably be enough of a demand to repeat it in the same
form, as well as for a "Pole Dance 102" type of thing.

We're wide open for anything that you or anyone wants to plan along the
line of structured or informal dancing.

We do appear to have a consensus on doing an informal recurring "Dancing
At Paris" thing each evening, but there can be other dance-related
activities as well. The DAP is really more of a touch-base and informal
default gathering and social activity than it is a dance activity.
