This mailing consists of the latest date comments and various other
items.

To accommodate everyone's holiday plans, the date vote will occur no

EHM and Pre-DLV:

The EHM event is in need of new ideas and a costume party would be a
great idea to add. Sherry, are you willing to cohost a crazy costume
party at EHM next year?

How many people made it to LV on saturday in time to attend the pre-DLV?

Denny's seem to be a good location since walk by's couldn't miss us.

Could the pre-Saturday or post-Saturday be added to the schedule with
just showup events like dancing at Paris?

Annie responds:

I personally liked the downtown Denny's. However, I think it may have
been a bit too out in the open for many of our people, in particular for
those who would be walking in cold not knowing anyone and not having any
mainstream public experience.

As I think back to the three most recent Pre-DLV gatherings that had a
significant level of participation (PT's Sahara, Las Palmas, Alexis
Park), all of the venues were dimly lit, totally enclosed, and did have
an air of seclusion and comfort. The three we have used in recent years
(Firefly Paradise, Mr. B's, Denny's) were brighter, more crowded with
civilians, and in general, open and exposed. I specifically remember the
concerns about "drive bys" at Firefly.

This is really a minor activity, and not officially on our schedule, but
it is perplexing that we used to regularly get a very good showing for
it but in recent years the turnout has been less than desired.

Shooting and such:

Vanessa and I will team lead the shooting event so we can back each
other up, as always. Making sure someone always has your six is a
prime consideration in any tactical situation. Does that work for
you Vanessa?

Gina and I will back each other up on the shooting event in 2014 as my
family emergency kept me away this year and Gina jumped right in and
took care of the shooting activity... We can keep the horseback riding
in mind and see if another daytime event is needed. Vanessa

Thanks much for teaming up to have the shooting event. It really is
important that we have a diversity of activities and Coordinators
working together... Thanks Team

An not to let you "off the hook" we will keep the "horseback riding" "up

LV Report:

Just wanted to update you on my LV trip. All is going very well, meeting
all my goals, met with Ron Aronsohn-great guy, lots of outings & no bad
issues to report. Some new potential venues to report back about. The
2014 DLV dates work for me.

PS- LV has a record heat wave this weekend, so I may go home before then.

I like the week begining March 30th. any later, and things get busy
around here with spring cleanup and planting.

Hi

I'm planning on coming to DLV in 2014 although I have to say it relies
on the dates being workable.

Of the dates:
1. Week beginning Sunday, March 30.
2. Week beginning Sunday, April 27.
3. Week beginning Sunday, May 4.

2 is by far the best for me.

What were the issues with week beginning 13 & 20 April? Is it just
easter at the end of the former and start of the latter or other issues
as well?

April 25th is a holiday in New Zealand, ANZAC DAY, the equivalent of
Veterans Day.

I'm trying to minimise the amount of leave I use but be in the US for
the longest possible time so the week of the 27th will work. Not really
sure if Susan is coming as well but its possible.

Yes, the weeks beginning April 16 and April 20 were excluded due to
the holidays. Easter/Holy Week/Passover are major religious and family
holidays here in the States and would undoubtedly have conflicts for
many or our potential attendees.
