Cleaning up:
Follow-up and clean-up items this week.
The surveys will close this coming weekend. If you attended and have
not taken the follow-up survey, please take it here prior to this
coming Sunday.
http://www.geekbabe.com/dlv/2013survey.html
We'll plan on one more final follow-up mailing for the DLV 2013 ORG
group. If there's anything relevant to the 2013 event that you have,
please send it in within the next week. After the next mailing, we
will re-arrange things and form the DLV 2014 ORG group.
Final activity headcount and MIA appeals for the year. Please send
in updates if you have them.

JoAnn Sez:
All feedback from you is most "helpful" as we go forward.
Still a large number of events without attendance numbers.
So let us now look at the survey feedback numbers and comments so we see
how to respond to the "ever changing needs" of our Diva Group.
Please send the photos which are ever so important to confirm the fun,
energy, and inclusiveness of our Diva Gathering- 2013.
Hugs.... JoAnn

Koffee Korner Report:
Katie writes:
Day 1 Monday, 2 showed up, Including me!
Tuesday due to early start for golf 10 showed up.
Wednesday 3 showed up.
Thursday I slept in and it probably didn't matter as I zipped over from
Harras to The Cybe Cafe in male mode to make sure anyone had not showed
up alone and They hadn't.
Friday I Did say I likely would Not be there and I wasn't so I can't say
if anyone showed or not.
I will very likely do this again next year as I like being up early and
relaxing in a less crowded cafe for my coffee fix.
It may or may not be worth advertizing as Katies Koffee Korner for 2014
but I will give those who might want to do some early morning
socializing a chance and if we need it then I will be there.
After coffee Bev and I took some photos in and around the Monorail
station, At Ross clothing store, In Wallgreens, In the Quad and Harrahs
and some local Strip street piccies and we also took a drive downtown to
Freemont Street in the early AM. for posterity.
It is a nice place for daytime pics if you have not already tried it, so
the Koffee morning was not a total bust as we added to the D L V 13
photo albums in a nice way, I was able to help someone to get the gist
of DLV one morning so as intended Katies. K/K helped in a small way
there too.
. . . . . . . . . .
Thanks, Katie.
If the Koffee Korner is going to happen next year, we definitely want
to "advertise" it, meaning put it on the schedule and promote it as
a DLV activity. That way people who want to do it know about it and
don't get left out.
I (Annie) counted 12 at KKK on Tuesday. Two main groups plus a few
wandering in/out/about, probably prior to golf.

Follow-up:
Vera writes:
1. NAME TAGS: I'm happy to hear that the name tags were a big hit. Only
thing that i can say about them were that the font used for the names
turned out to not be legible from a distance and people had to get
practically on top of the other person (some might say even getting into
personal space) to read the names. Sorry for that ladies! We will try a
lager font size next time.
In response to Annie's puzzlement over the meaning of the two colors, it
quite simple. We had those two colors left over at the house ant used
them up for the name tags.
We need to come up with some ideas to encourage the wearing of the name
tags throughout the week. Maybe some contests with some smaller
inexpensive prizes i.e makeup, makeup brushes, etc. to the attendee
who's name is selected IF she is wearing her name tag. This could be
done several times each night at various locations to give everyone a
fair chance. Maybe the back of each name tag might have 7 squares that
only a DLV Org lady might initial, then the ladies who have all 7
squares initialed can put their name tags in some type of container/box
to be drawn for the grand prize a the Farewell Dinner.
Just a thought....Vera & Dennis
. . . . . . . . . .
Annie responds:
Thanks, V and D. :)
One thing we did back in 2000-{mumble} to encourage wearing of name
tags is that we had a number of door-prize type items that year and
we simply gave a few of them away at various activities, almost at
random, to those who came in wearing a DLV name tag.
Over the years a few merchants have had a "show your DLV name tag
and get {whatever} off of {whatever}" promotions. Maybe something
like that could be repeated or encouraged.
I would also like to brainstorm about ideas to enourage people to
make an effort to do the check-in and pick up the name tags.
Any more ideas?

High Tea:
Marilyn writes:
We had 16 at the High Tea on Friday.
As usual, the Four Seasons was very accommodating, since the count
increased after the deadline to four more and one more who showed at the
event.
. . . . . . . . . .
Thanks, Marilyn.
It says a lot for an activity when the show-up count increases over
the signed-up count instead of vice-versa, which is the way it often
seems to be. This has been one of our more popular and successful of
the recurring activities.

EHM follow-up:
Marisa writes:
First I am giving a very much appreciated thanks to Annie for setting up
the music for the burlesque show and background music for the rest of
the night!
"Buttercup Delight" enjoyed performing for us also.
The swap meet went good and was a big hit with the museum staff at the
end. I think each of them picked out at least one item, so the swap will
probably be an annual event at EHM.
The conversation with Dr Victoria was also well attended and could have
gone on all night.
Audrey tour. I failed to discribe what the Audrey tour was, so we had
some confusion at first. As always we had fun at Paris and with a number
of people ending the limo tour there, it looks like we had 30 attendees.
. . . . . . . . . .
Annie writes:
Thanks, Marisa.
This was the third straight year for a great turnout at the EHM.
For an activity with a $10 entry fee, it's the exception to the
pattern we've observed over the years. The stage show (I was happy
to help!), the swap meet, and the "Ask Dr. V." session kept the
activity fresh and gave the people a reason to want to attend. I
also think the availablity of the bar adds to the evening.
