Quick touch-base:

Just another quick mailing on a few subjects.

A few snags have emerged, but nothing earthshaking. See items below.
. . . . . . . . . .

Let's talk about numbers:

Numbers are now converging and it's obvious that we will have a very
good turnout and a well-attended event.

Here's the way thing stand.

As of this morning we have 192 signed up, which includes 34 So. The
SO percentage is up this year, reversing the trend of the past few
years.

The Magic Machine says that 154 of those 192 will show, so we can
make a SWAG somewhere between those numbers. A turnout of 200 is not
likely but it could happen. More likely is that we may break the
record of 179 attendees.

We still have three registrations in various stages in the pipeline.
22 registrations are in the cancellation pending state, and history
has shown that few if any of them will attend. It looks like we will
have a total of 40-some cancellations this year, which is about half
of what we had in 2012.

Pre-DLV:

Delaney writes:

WRT Saturday, I like the idea of trying a "different" Denny's, but
I'm comfortable with you taking executive action on the venue.
. . . . . . . . . .

Annie responds:

I'm far more comfortable with a group decision on this. We've had
a number of people comment, but many have been silent, and I do
think we need to get more feedback on this.

We've had three venues which have had at least some positive
commentary since their first mention:

1. PT's Pub Sahara and 6th.
2. Tommy Rocker's
3. Neonopolis Denny's

Sorry to be wonky here, but let's do a quick vote or in this case
more of a plebiscite, covering all of the volunteers, not just
those of voting status. (This is not an official activity, so we
are not bound by voting status here.) We'll count the ballots on
Monday and make our final decision then.

All: Please look in your inboxes for a "non-ballot" shortly and
please respond with your preference! :)

Absinthe status:

Cami writes:

Yes that night (Tuesday) is dark. Let's move it to wednesday night at
10 p.m. same time and try to push people that are going to the Erotic
museum to come after that.
. . . . .

Annie responds:

Thanks, Cami.

That sounds about as good as we can do. It's changed on the schedules
and we'll add an item about it in this week's general mailing.

Same plans. See you in person for ticket purchase at the WC.

Vanessa writes:

I checked the on-line ticket sellers and Absinthe is dark on Monday and
Tuesday......... the Believe Cirque Soleil show at the Luxor with
magician Chris Angel is open on Tuesday and have a 9:30 show on Tuesday
which would fit right into the current time slot and you can get great
front center seats for $108... just a suggestion and price is comparable
to Absinthe
. . . . .

Thanks, Vanessa.

I do think that Cami has a good plan, but if you (or anyone) wants to
host(ess) the Believe show, it can be done. The only issue would be
that it's too late to get a meaningful sign-up or headcount. Let us
know if you want this to be added.

EHM snag:

Marisa writes (edited):

A short time ago I was told that we can't have the fetish demo at EHM
and I think there were some people looking forward to that since it was
promoted as part of the EHM activity.

I have a voutcher for 2 tickets ($184 value) to see Penn & Teller, but
they are dark on thursday and friday (too late to auction at EHM on
wednesday). So I thought that I would purchase the tickets for tuesday
at 9pm and live auction them at WC.

I've just been trying figure out how to pay for the "Buttercup Delight"
show to keep it as part of the EHM event. If an annoucement could be
made somehow before DLV, the prospective buyer could plan ahead for the
Penn & teller show on tuesday evening and the annoucement would help
promote the auction at WC.

It can be noted that the auction is to fund the burlesque show.
. . . . . . . . . .

Thanks for the updates, Marisa.

We can do an announcement of the auction in tomorrow's final general
mailing. I would also suggest that you post this in the Discussion
Forum. We'll also add it to the Late Notice section of the LFM.

Now for the auction at the WC. I would suggest a silent auction due
to the fact that Artisan has no microphone (at least not in 2011)
that covers the area we will be using. We scrubbed the Group Photo
in 2011 simply due to the fact that even someone with a stentorous
foghorn voice would have difficulty cutting through the racket.
