Decision on the dates:

We've stated that the Call For Comments on our proposed dates will
run "through the third week of September", and that is this week.

All further date comments received in reply to the ORG mailings
will be forwarded to the DLV Discussion Forum, since the vote will
occur during this next list cycle.

All members of voting status are encouraged to review the date
comments prior to the casting of the vote.

Date scoreboard:

This is a "tick count" summary of the date comments received both
here on the ORG list and in the DLV Discussion Forum.

A clear preference to a first or only choice gives one point to
the candidate week. A clear mention of a second choice, or any two
equally-preferred weeks gives 1/2 point to those candidate weeks.

Comments to the effect of all being equally preferred gives no
points.

If an individual made more than one comment clearly expressing a
preference for dates, that individual's last submission was the one
which was counted.

1. Sunday, April 14 thru Friday, April 19: 9.0
2. Sunday, April 21 thru Friday, April 26: 6.5
3. Sunday, April 28 thru Friday, May 3: 3.5

Voting procedure and testing:

For those who are new to voting status, this is how it works:

We send a special "ballot" mailing to those who are of voting
status, who then reply indicating their vote. We keep the voting
open until no further ballots come in for a 48 hour period.

In the event of no majority, an immediate run-off round between
the top two vote-getters will be held, and a second ballot will
be sent. Please be sure to watch your inboxes carefully during
the vote.

Since this will be our first vote this year, we need to test out
the mailing list of those of voting status. A test mailing will
be sent out within the next 24 hours to all who we show on record
as being of voting status. Those of voting status are those who
are on record as coordinating or assisting with at least one DLV
activity in one of the past two yearly events.

IF YOU BELIEVE THAT YOU ARE OF VOTING STATUS AND
**DO NOT** RECEIVE THE TEST MESSAGE WITHIN THE NEXT
24 HOURS, BE SURE TO LET US KNOW!

Missing ballots and any other irregularities need to be reported
prior to the vote, and not after the outcome of the vote is known.

We strongly suggest that you CC yourself when you cast your vote,
as the Message-ID of the message in which the vote is cast is used
to track the vote should there be any issues.

When the vote is final, we'll publish the raw votes including enough
of the Message-ID so you can be sure that your vote was counted.
