On the Artisan, the biggest downside will be the cost. It is
normally expensive to eat there $$$ & hard to find.

Last year people were parked at the Plaza & walked to the Beauty
Bar. There is not a lot of parking on the street and you can
validate for 2 hours, at some of the casinos, at the public
parking garage on the SW corner of Las Vegas Bl & Fremont St.

I don't think the Blue Ox at Pecos is big enough (it's the
smallest of the remaining Blue Ox's).

I have no comment on the Stratosphere other than: do they
waive the charge to get up there if we're eating? Last time
I was up there was while it was still being built. I got
dizzy!

BB anyone? How about one of the buffets downtown? We could use
the hotel parking with validation.

I'm not volunteering, just suggesting.

>I have far more questions than I have answers on this one.

My replies are based on a single visit there last year. I believe
Marisa organized it so she may have better insight.

>Can Level 107 hold 100 people?

I would think so. It is a pretty large circular lounge with
lots of minglng room and seats in groups of six (or eight? or
more???).

Also, a lot depends on how much they want our business and how
crowded a Monday evening usually is.

>Are reasonably-priced drinks available?

They apparently have that happy hour from 4 to 7. If the opening
bash starts at 6, we'd be there in time to partake in the reduced
pricing.

>Is there any cover or tower-entry charge?

Not that I know of.

>Is there still a security checkpoint at the elevator? Things
>like that tend to spook some of our people.

I recall there might have been but it didn't seem any different
than what you see in any casino hotel. I recall last year the
post was staffed by a very nice young woman.

>Personally, I have never been up in that tower, knowing that
>I would feel uneasy up there. That's my problem, not anyone

My gosh, the view is breathtaking and a joy to behold. I'm afraid
of heights in a big way but I had zero issue whatsoever in this
tower. Now put me on the rollercoaster up there, it'll NEVER
happen. I'd rather eat worms! Of course, YMMV but seriously,
the room and spectacular view makes the 107 a terrific choice
for any of our events.

Does Nora or other members of the local TUG group that meets
regularly have any venues they have used that we have not tried
yet that would not be too mainstream for some just coming out?

One that I remember that was used was a Romano's Macaroni Grill.
That venue has a large dining area and may have a side room or
area for our group?

It's been awhile also since we used Carluccios in that strip mall
that was near that Liberachi Museum and Goodtimes? They had a side
room.
