Wrapping up 2010:

This will most likely be the final ORG mailing for the DLV
2010 event.

Any more ORG list traffic which is not of an earth-shaking
nature will be held for the 2011 ORG list.

We'll be adding the new volunteers to the list shortly, to
follow one final Call For Volunteers in this weekend's
general mailing. You can expect the "kick-off" 2011 ORG
mailing to come out toward the beginning of July.

I would again like to thank all for their efforts in making
DLV 2010 the best-attended, highest-rated, and most successful
event in our history!

Highly rated activities:

Gina writes:

>Shooting Event were the highest rated!!! (or at least close)

Yes, very close in both cases.

After one "garbage" survey response was thrown out, the
shooting activity scored a perfect 5.0 and the Charles Bar
scored 4.92, on the enjoyment scale, with both of these
figures being higher than originally reported.

Both shooting and the Charles Bar scored a perfect 5.0 on
the comfort scale as well.

We've now been tracking the Charles Bar for 7 years, starting
in 2004. It's been one of the consistently highly rated
activities over time. (from Scores 2004 to 2010.)

Enjoyment: 4.3, 4.58, 3.84, 4.5, 4.58, 4.17, 4.92
Comfort: 5.0, 4.69, 4.63, 4.76, 4.46, 4.53, 5.0

As you see, only once did it miss 4.0 on the enjoyment
scale and only once did it come in less than 4.5 for comfort.

Charles Bar has indeed turned into one of our shining stars.

Thanks again for doing both of these. :)

Excellent feedback:

Susan Rogers writes (first-person, no quoting):

The excellent feedback that we got is a big thank you to
all of us who organized activities.

Every activity that I attended went off well.

I want to thank Brian Mcmullan, the staff at Mcmullan's,
Cassie our waitress and John Windsor for letting Lissa, Bob
and I play during his show. Great job Mcmullan's as usual.

Thanks to Jeff the owner of Escape and Goodtimes. He was
very good to work with and accomodating to our needs. Also
Sal the sound engineer helped to make the Jam Session and
the Pity Party the successes that they were. Mindy did a
great job on the karaoke.

the bahama breeze deserves kudos for hiring tommy rocker to
entertain. He is a real pro, who owns a couple of clubs in
Vegas. His low key approach to playing was perfect backdrop
for dinner and Quality Social Time. After dinner when we
wanted to be entertained and do some dancing, he was excellent.

I think that part of the reason that BB was such a sucess this
year was due to the fact that our attendees had such a good
time during the week that they didn't want it to end. I know
that I didn't.

Thanks to Paula for the door prizes. Those of you who have
never been to A Harmony Nails are missing a great experience.
It's really a unique salon with great atmosphere. And if
you've never been pampered by one of her facials, you don't
know what you're missing.

Thanks to Amy and the staff at Glamour Boutique. She has been
a friend to our community forever. Her prices are reasonable.

Thanks to all of the vendors that we patronized. Our acceptance
in Las Vegas has never been at a higher level.

To those of you a little discouraged at the way an activity
turned out, I had a function that was a complete disaster in
2009. I was so discouraged that I didn't want to get involved
in 2010. But I did and you learn.

I like Cindy's adaptability in becoming a greeter at Firefly.
What a great way to get involved if you're feeling alone. I
hope that she is on the org committee. She has potential.

We set the bar pretty high this year. We have a lot of work
to do, if we want to top 2010.
. . . . .

Thanks, Susan.

We had several vendors who acted above and beyond the call
of duty this year.

I didn't realize that it was *THE* Tommy Rocker who was
performing at BB! I'm assuming he's the one that runs the
club not too far from Rio. Hmmmm ... (wheels turning) I
wonder if Tommy Rocker's might be a venue to consider for
DLV?

As you say, the Bahama Breeze ending was great this year
and I'm glad that we ended on a high note.

There was really nothing that I can think of that "bombed"
this year. I was a bit discouraged from the 2009 Limo Tour
as you were with your less-than-ideal activity in 2009,
but the 2010 Limo Tour went very well and all of your
activities came off very well as well.

Yes, we have a very hard act to follow when we do DLV 2011. :)

Welcome back, Densie! :)

>Can you put me on the org list?

Done, and I think that the Air Tours will be a welcome
addition to the lineup of activities for DLV 2011. I know
that at each recent DLV, somebody reminisces about the Air
Tours that happened back in the Good Old Days of DLV. :)
