This is a very quick note, since I do want to get a few things
on the fast track while things are still fresh in the minds
of the attendees.
First of all, thanks again to all who made DLV 2010 the
outstanding success it was. As you know we had a record
number of planned activities and a record number of active
volunteers this year, and the efforts of all were very
necessary and significant to the success of the event.

Big burning question is what the attendance numbers were.
We will not have a total until all of the sign-in sheets
are reconciled, plus I want to take a few extra steps this
year to be sure all are counted.
First, I'm going to list all of the "questionables" here
in ORG and ask for any first-person "sightings" of these
individuals by the members here. Second, I'm going to send
a series of very assertive "Did you attend or not?" e-mails
to those who are still unaccounted for. Last year we had
"yes I did attend" notes trickling in as late as January
and this year I want to clear as many of the questionables
as early as we can.

Please test the survey:
The first draft of the DLV 2010 follow-up survey is now on
line and ready to test. Please give this the once-over.

I'm not considering the answers to this first round of testing
to be in any way "for real", and I do plan on clearing and
restarting the responses after this first round of testing.
Please test this out and report any issues, since I want to
roll this out very quickly, within the next few days.
Please be on the lookout for such things as typos,
misspellings, bad terminology, etc.
Also system errors and unexpected responses to input.
Are there any missing activities? I've combined a few
such as a subsequent HH and dinner, but if there are any
which are obviously missing, please let me know ASAP.
Are there any questions which we should be asking which
we are not asking? The survey is long, but I don't want
to miss any relevant questions from which we can obtain
meaningful information.
I would rather not re-word or re-scale any answers unless
there is a very compelling reason to do so. The primary
reason for this is to maintain consistency from year to
year to accurately track trends.
Are there any questions for which another answer needs to
be provided? One suggestion along this line has already
been put in place.
Anyway, please help us shake this down.
