Thanks gang:

Thanks again to all who helped to make DLV 2009 the success
that it was! We'll summarize and de-brief more in the next
few weeks.

I want to keep things on the fast track this year regarding
follow-up items, to get our people while memories are fresh
and the "glow" has not worn off yet.

I'm gonna try a few things a bit different this year WRT
the follow-up mailings. Instead of one big honking mailing
for things like the survey, call for photos, call for
volunteers, I'm going to send these out as individual
special mailings, one every few days as appropriate, and
then summarize all of these in a general mailing when
we've gone through the cycle.

One of the first items will be to get the follow-up
survey on line ASAP and get responses in while everyone's
memories are fresh. I want to have this ready to go this
week.

MB has sent in a good suggestion for an additional question
(below) and I would like to ask the gang here if you think
of any questions which we have not been asking which would
give us meaningful information going forward.

We do need to be careful about expanding the survey. It
already takes about 5 minutes and in past years I've
noticed in the logs that a few will bring the survey up
but never submit the answers, indicating that we're on
the edge of losing some responses due to the time and
effort required.

Two questions will be "retired" this year, the ones
regarding the attitude toward goth/punk and androgynous
looks. Therefore we can a few without increasing the
effort required to take the survey.

If we are to add additional questions, we need to be
sure that they justify their inclusion and the additional
effort needed to complete the survey as a whole.

1. They should be based on a need for meaningful information.

2. They should be significant in that they carry over from
year to year, allowing us to track trends over the years.

3. They should be general enough that they pertain to the
majority of the attendees. Things like questions about any
specific activity should probably be asked elsewhere.

Anyway, if anybody thinks of questions which we have not
asked in the past, please write in ASAP.

Thanks.

Questionaire question:

>It was great to see you again. Once again, outstanding job
>all around.

Thanks, MB, and thanks again to all who helped to put DLV
2009 together! I have a feeling that this will be one of
the highest-rated events in our history. :)

>When you put together the feedback questionaire, here is a
>good question to include:

>"Did you go to a restaurant or activity (dancing, gaming,
>show, etc.) that was NOT part of the DLV schedule of events
>that you think would make a good group activity next year?"

Good one. Got it. I'll add this as an additional fill-in
text area. We already have one for activity suggestions,
but an additional one for specific venue suggestions will
add to this and give us some very specific suggestions
for what our people enjoyed and would suggest for the
group as a whole.

Thanks, MB. :)

Missing in action:

We would like to ask all volunteers to take a good look at
the list below (already appeared in DISC, will go in a
special mailing as well) and identify any individuals who
are on this list but actually attended this year.

We need "I KNOW I saw Jane at xxxxx" type answers, and
not things like "uh, I think I saw Jane but maybe it was
somebody else" responses. If you're answering this in the
third person, please be absolutely sure you saw her (him).

The number to the left is the last part of the registration
number, in case you're not sure who we're talking about.
