About 10 days out:
All in all, things have been progressing smoothly. I have no
significant "bombs" to report, but I'm trying to keep an eye
out for any snags. I ask all to please do this as well.
We're getting up to the critical point where should something
develop, we may just have to live with it.
The schedule "freeze" is planned for next Monday the 4th.

Looking at the numbers ...
As of this morning we have 178 validated individuals, and
the machine thinks that 137 of these will show. Five more
registrations are in various stages. We're still seeing about
one new registration per day. We still appear to be zeroing
in on that 150 mark.
The recent flurry of registrations has slowed somewhat.
Activity sign-ups continue to trickle in. Most of those
we're seeing now are changes as opposed to new sign-ups.
The only change in waiting list status since the last report
is that the Pajama Party is right on the edge (20). I'm not
putting up the FULL sign yet, since the expected turnout for
this is 13.6 and there's still quite a bit of breathing room
in there.
The two largest gatherings will most definitely be Monday and
Saturday evenings. We have 85 signed up for dinner on Monday
(machine says 64.1 will show) and 87 signed up for dinner on
Saturday (65.9 predicted to show). These are dinner headcounts
and do not count those attending but not eating. My guess,
which includes the non-eaters, would be 100-ish on Monday and
80-90-ish or so on Saturday.
I was kind of expecting Trevi to become a max-attendance thing
as well, but it's sitting at 37 (real-world show-up 28.5).

21 registrations are about to be cancelled for non-response.
Although this group is down significantly from where it was
a week ago (40-ish), I only expect 1-2 at most from this bunch
to respond and attend.
Here's the list of those about to get nuked for showing no
sign of life after being prodded several times. If you are
in contact with any of these and feel like doing some
outreach and trying to salvage one or more of them, be my
guest. The garden will be weeded out on Sunday.

A favor, please:
I will not have a vehicle with me for DLV 2009.
I do have some errands to do for DLV after I arrive and I am
wondering if someone local (or someone who is in town already
with a vehicle) can please drive me to a few places (such as
Office Max and Kinkos) on either Saturday or Sunday just
prior to DLV. I would appreciate it. :)

You also bring up some points which were cited on the survey last
year regarding the daily lunches. We need to have a member of the
group please stand by to be conspicuous and to welcome others up
to the start time. We had reports of people being on time and not
being able to find the group.

IMAO, the opening night would be the best, as we discussed when
we had a couple of volunteers who were thinking of doing this.
I can't think of any other activity where there would be both
a sufficient crowd and a place to set this up.
However, if this is going to happen, we need to have someone
volunteer to be a go-between, make contact, and work out the
details.
If you (or anyone) see this as a priority, please say so ASAP
as time is starting to get tight. I can give contact info if
anybody is interested in taking this one on.
