Vote results:

The results on our motion to drop St. Tropez and add Sahara as
suggested hotels:

For: 8
Against: 1
Abstain: 0

Last vote was received Tuesday, 6:52am PST and polls were closed
6:52am PST today.

One vote required clarification. One invalid vote was received.

There was again concern expressed that the two items of the
motion should have been unbundled.

Those who wish to see a reversal of either point voted upon are
now free to raise a motion to do so, and I'm holding off on the
announcement for 24 hours in case such a motion comes in.
However, due to the margin by which the combined motion passed,
I think it's very doubtful that a motion to reverse either point
would carry.

Raw votes appear below.

Upscale dining:

Kimberly Kael writes:

Thanks, Kimberly. You're on the schedule, and I have Roy's as
the tentative venue. You are, of course, free to change this
going forward if you wish.

Registration testing:

Thanks to all for testing the registration system. There were no
major reports of any issues. Most issues were small and were not
very visible.

We did have a few late registree no-shows from last DLV who got a
very belated "you need to validate" nastygram, and, coincidentally,
we had a carrier data line issue on Thursday and Friday which
caused some minor problems.

Some of you first-time returnees may have received validation
e-mails that had incorrect 2008 dates. This was noted and
corrected. It's things like this that the registration
shake-down is intended to discover. :)

Thanks again, I think we're ready to go early next month. :)

Julie returns:

Julie writes:

For those who don't know Julie, she has been a long-time DLV
attendee, supporter, and volunteer, having first joined DLV back
in 1999.

Movie night:

Joan writes:

>>The Palms also has and IMAX theater I belive but it being
>>one those place where you get a lot 20ish I am not sure how
>>people would feel about going there.

>I'm 42, I go to both places, day or night, not a problem.

>Luxor gets all ages, again, not a problem
