Moving on:

More good ideas and good discussion here. Please keep it coming.

We haven't had too many comments regarding the dates. To be honest,
I was expecting a minor firestorm over the day after Mothers Day
start, but it never happened. We'll be sending out a general
mailing the weekend of the 23-24 reminding everyone of the
tentative dates, and the fact that comments need to be in this
month.

The calling I'm hearing, regarding the dress-up activities, is
for classy, not trashy. We have NSD for more exotic dress, and
there's nothing that says others can't plan, say, a "slut party"
if there's a demand for something like that.

I would like to hear more comments about this. We've always had
the show/limo combination. Reason? Because it always seemed to
work.

The one thing I've noticed the last few years is that although
we've had a full Limo Tour, there have been fewer and fewer at
the show. My guess is that the past two shows (Love and LeReve)
have been a bit too expensive for quite a few.

Good to have you back with us, JoAnn. Yes, we were getting a bit
concerned!

>When will the photos for 2008 be posted on the site.

The photo staging area is up. If you don't have the address for
the staging area, please write in.

We'll do a final Call For Removal in the next general mailing.
After that, we can start getting them moved into the permanent
area.

I'm not sure that I understand exactly what you're getting at, but
hopefully I can answer.

Scheduling is such a big deal this year because every timeframe
there is happens to be bad for somebody for some reason or
another.

We always want to have the dates solid around 8-9 months out so
people can make plans. We learned in the early days that around
the first of September seems to work best for this. Having it
solid allows people to do such things as lock in air fares, as
the recent comment on the Discussion Forum indicates. This coming
year, air fare is expected to go up continuously as the DLV dates
approach.

>March would have been the ideal time. The heat does not bother
>some people until you are in the heat, than it becomes a different
>story.

If a motion to reschedule is introduced and carries, after our
Call For Discussion ends, then we are free to consider other
timeframes, including March. If we do go through another
iteration of date selection, we do have to consider all factors,
not just the temperature.

>Ladies the cost will be higher next year, with plane fairs and
>hotel rates, and etc. Sunday to Friday would be great, or you
>might see a big exit on Saturday.

My first choice for a timeframe would be Sunday to Friday, but
that may or may not be possible. Historically we've seen that
"big exit" on Friday, as that's when hotel rates go up. This
has always been somewhat mitigated by those who come in for
the weekend part of DLV.

There's quite a bit of speculation on the LV talk boards about
the effect of the economy on hotel rates. The good news is that
signs are pointing toward lower rates in the slack occupancy
times, and less differential between weekday and weekend rates.

Sahara doesn't have April-May rates posted yet, but IP does
and the effects of the NAB Convention and the slowing of the
economy are both reflected.

IP tower is now $90 for Sun-Wed of NAB week compared to $45-55
for the Sun-Wed part of the proposed DLV week. $45-55 is less
than it has been for either DLV 2007 or DLV 2008.
