Here are the results of the last DLV date vote:
Monday, April 20 thru Saturday, April 25. : 4
Monday, May 11 thru Saturday, May 16. : 10
Abstain : 1
Last vote was received 2036 CDT Tuesday and polls were closed
2036 CDT Thursday.
One late vote was received in both of the rounds, neither of
which would have affected the overall outcome.

As you see, we do have a significant majority on this third
round of votes.

For those who are not yet of voting status, here's a summary.
Our second round of votes, the one announced in our last ORG
mailing, gave no majority, and the following results:
Sunday, March 22 thru Friday March 27. : 2
Monday, April 20 thru Saturday, April 25. : 3
Sunday, April 26 thru Friday, May 1. : 2
Monday, April 27 thru Saturday, May 2. : 1
Monday, May 11 thru Saturday, May 16. : 4
Abstain : 1
An immediate run-off vote between the top two vote-getters
was held and the plurality was upheld by majority.
Therefore, unless some serious objections are raised, either
here and now from within ORG, or from our Call For Commments,
the dates for Diva Las Vegas 2009 will be Monday, May 11 thru
Saturday, May 16. These dates will been posted as tentative
on the web site and a general mailing will be sent out this
coming weekend.

Our (tentative) timeframe is not ideal, I admit, but I do
believe we can make it work. I do feel very sorry for those
who may be left out by the results, but for this coming year
it's really a "least of all evils" situation, with no 6-day
span being perfect.
Although I do believe that the May dates will be easier to
"sell" to the Teeming Millions than the NAB dates, I'm
expecting at least a token amount of griping due to the
proximity to Mothers Day, and perhaps some concern about the
weather, but I'm not predicting a major movement to overturn
this set of dates.
I do think we need to announce the fact that we immediately
follow Mothers Day, so everyone will be aware of it. If you
look back to 2003, when the proposed 2004 dates were posted,
no complaints about ending the day before Mothers Day came in
until AFTER our Call For Comments had expired. Then $#!+ hit
the fan!
By precedent, we announce the proposed dates and allow a
month for comments before considering them to be final. I am
planning a general mailing to go out Saturday or Sunday
announcing these dates. If anybody here has any final concerns
about these dates that need to be addresses before they are
announced as tentative, these need to come in now.
Thanks to all for your input and patience during this date
selection process. We'll plan on resuming other ORG business
shortly, with a planned ORG mailing going out next Wednesday
on the regular schedule.
