DLV 2007:
I wish to thank all of those who coordinated the activities for DLV
2007. This was the smoothest DLV that I can remember, with very few
hiccups regarding the activities. Annie's headcount of 130 is the
highest attendance ever for Diva Las Vegas.
A very special thanks goes out to those who coordinated more than one
activity. Handling one is a task, but when more than one activity is
involved, the effort required to see it through is greatly compounded.

These are the people that made DLV 2007 a huge success, and our
gratitude goes out to each and every one of them.

Planning
For those who wish to volunteer again, or for the first time in
hosting an activity, all you have to do is propose an activity, a
venue, and a brief description to what the activity is. Activities
and ideas for activities that are "outside of the box" will be most
definitely welcome. Since DLV is in Las Vegas, there should be no
shortage of venues to host a number of fun activities.
In discussions during DLV, it appears that several of you have
expressed a desire to host mainstream activities. It would be great
if we could have at least one mainstream activity each day/evening
along with an activity at a "safe" venue. Some of the mainstream
items discussed were the Skywalk, lunch/shopping/roller coaster at
Primm, and karaoke at Blue Note in Mandalay Bay. They are new and
all sound like fun.
What we need is input from everyone about new activities and venues
that would continue to make DLV the most fun and unique T* event on
the planet. If you are hesitant about coordinating an activity,
please state the idea, and if it's really popular, we'll find someone
to act as the primary coordinator, or to assist you in the coordinating
of the activity.
Open up your imagination and think what would be fun to do during your
vacation in Las Vegas. If you think something is fun, I'm sure others
would also.

DLV Org Participants for DLV 2008:
A few things will change in the Org group for next year's planning.
First, after this mailing is sent, the DLV Org roster will be trimmed
to only those who have attended at least one DLV out of the past two
years. If you feel you need to be on the Org roster and have not
attended during the past two years, you may write to aiko@geekbabe.com
with the reason(s) why you should be reinstated. Some that have not
attended for the past two years are still being retained, due to their
past and present help with DLV, even if they cannot attend.
Secondly, the voting privileges for all decisions pertaining to DLV
2008 will be open only to those who have been an activity coordinator
during the prior DLV. The activity you coordinated, or assisted in
coordinating, will qualify you to have voting privileges, no matter
if your activity was major or minor.
