Fremont Street Experience:

Annie writes:

>>Thanks for volunteering for this activity. I watched an impromptu FSE
>>last year from a couple of our attendees, and could not believe the
>>crowd that was attracted.

>I watched this too. I was sitting at a slot machine right by the
>entrance to Binion's. They even had the attention of some of the
>people inside the casino.

>I later referred to it as the "outreach mission", as it appeared to me
>that the normals were curious as to what was going on and that our
>people were indeed enjoying "ministering" to the Great Unwashed Masses.

>Things like this are fine -- if that's what some of our people want to
>do.

>However, I think that the vast majority of our attendees just want to
>be themselves and enjoy what's going on, as opposed to being part of
>the entertainment.

>>Now, because of the attention that a group of our people will attract,
>>I think we need to discuss how to minimize the possibility of negative
>>incidents.

>>Comments?

>Of course. :)

>Just clue people in to what they might expect and let them choose if
>they will want to be in the spotlight or not. FSE is large enough that
>those who choose to be obvious can do so while others can get lost in
>the crowd.

>Some do like attention, and might want to represent the Church Of Our
>Lady of DLV as outreach missionaries.

>Others will just want to blend in with the Teeming Millions and enjoy
>what's going on.

>Just let the people do what they want.

>Let those who want to be on a mission go and hold streetcorner
>services.

>Let those who want a lot of attention overdress and congregate in a
>large group.

>Let those who want to blend in go off and do their thing.

>I think the big thing is to be considerate of others. Respect the
>wishes of those who don't want attention. Don't be clingy. And of
>course don't go to the ladies room in groups.

>Whatever example is set, it should be a good one.

Glamour Boutique:

Amy writes:

>Hello...Diva Las Vegas Ladies,

>This is Amy at the Glamour Boutique 2 in Las Vegas. I just read your
dates for DLV next year, and unfortunately if you have it on April
23-28, 2007 I will be in Arkansas. I will be there the 25-29 of April.
They scheduled with me first. As much as I would love to be a part of
DLV they scheduled there event and posted it last month. I gave them
my word that I would be there. If you could tell the ladies about this
and I hope you can take this into consideration before you make your
final decision. Please let me know when you do.

>Thank you and have a great day
>Amy,
>Manager and DLV's transformation artist

It seems that one of our competitors has scheduled their event during
the same time frame as DLV07, and Amy has committed to do make-overs
there. However, after I received this from Amy, I contacted John, the
owner of GB. He assured me that Glamour Boutique would be open and
stocked for Diva Las Vegas 2007. Also, he will have a make-up artist at
the store, who he says is similar in talent to Amy.

Comments?

My only question is .... who would prefer to attend an event in
Arkansas, when there's VEGAS!!

(Oops, I apologize to those of you from Arkansas). :)

NSD IV needs to be scheduled on Tuesday, April 24th, since that is our
venue's slowest night. There may also be other activities that possibly
need to be scheduled ahead of others, due to lead time issues.

I'll take the initiative to initially fill in some of the blanks. Let's
discuss and adjust this schedule to make sure the major activities don't
conflict, and fill in vacant times with some "fresh" ideas.
Two-tracking of activities will also work.

Mon, April 23 Lunch w/ Ginger
                            Welcome Celebration
                            Dinner & Slot Tournament

Tues, April 24 Lunch w/ Ginger
                            Skydiving w/wo Densie
Night Of The Soiled Doves IV

Wed, April 25 Lunch w/ Ginger
                            Art Tour
                            Eating Out Night
                            Fremont Street Experience
                            Theater Night

Thurs, April 26 Lunch w/ Ginger
                            (Production Show)
                            Limo Tour

Fri, April 27 DLV Golf
                            Lunch w/ Ginger
                            Alternative Bar Crawl

Sat, April 28 Lunch w/ Ginger / SBS Social
                            Production Show

Activities with times to be determined.

The English High Tea will need to be scheduled as the venue permits.

The Wiccan Spring Rite schedule is TBD. BTW, what is the Wiccan
Spring Rite, Terri? :)

Also, it would be great if we can get one or two production shows on the
schedule, especially prior to the Limo Tour. Volunteers?

Kumiko and I went to NYNY and rode the roller coaster, which was very
fun, and would make a fun activity. Especially before/during/after a
shopping trip. Volunteers?
