[ Moderator's note: Although this came in to the discussion forum, I
know not all of you are on that, and I think this one needs to get
out to everybody. ] :)

I just sent a note to the National Association of Broadcasters and told
them, in no uncertain terms, that they needed to move their convention
to a different date. We already had plans for that week and they
needed to reschedule. I mentioned that it was very inconsiderate to
flood Las Vegas during a time when we are planning to have an event
that is affordable for those of us who do vacations on a shoestring
rather than an expense account.

I did leave the door open for any of them who wanted to attend DLV to
come to L.V. during that time anyway and they would be welcome. They
just had to leave all their 134,500 friends at home.

Okay, they probably won't take me seriously either.

That being the case, I like the April 17-23 time frame as well.
Although it may cover some of the same time as some of the other
mentioned groups, I don't think they will be visiting too many of the
same locations we will. But then, we are looking to offer a few more
"tourist options" as part of the museum tours, so we may see them.
(There is nothing I'd like to see more than a group of college guys
arriving at the Chicken Ranch while we are visiting!)

I expect the weather to be somewhere between too rainy and cool and too
hot and windy during DLV. Regardless, it has been a success in all
weather conditions, just sometimes it's a little more pleasant a
success when the weather cooperates.
