This is my primary concern, and why I brought this to everybody's
attention as soon as I found out. I think the affordability factor is
one of the main reasons our event got to be so popular and remains so.
As a comparison, the headcount for Pinkfest, now in its 5th year, has
never approached that of DLV and probably never will. One reason, and
this is the most common reason cited by those who don't attend, is the
cost of accommodations, which are significantly higher than those for
DLV.
However, nothing is a done deal yet. our polls are still open on the
"do we review and reconsider" item, and the original set of dates
has been mentioned several times as a candidate for rescheduling,
should the current motion carry.
Let's continue the discussion, keeping it nice as it has been :) and
act on the motion if it should carry.
