Yes, LOL, that's my most unforgettable moment of DLV 2002. :)

I don't think we will outgrow Goodtimes for at least a few years. It's
been the most consistent place we've seen over the years. Yes, there's
quite a bit of space in there that we don't really use.

I and some others went over to Milano's because we were very hungry and
it was obvious we would not get served for a while.
(I think I've said this before, but ...) Sasha's is still climbing the
learning curve regarding staffing. I've now been there several times,
and it seems like it's usually in one of two states, almost empty and
overstaffed, or totally packed and understaffed.
Wednesday after DLV was the only time I can think of when it had a good
bunch of people in there but was not totally wall to wall people.
Friday after the parade was a mob scene there, but they obviously had
more people on duty.

Agreed!

I don't see any problem with suggesting an upscale hotel for those who
want to stay at something like that.
I know Gina stayed at the Bellagio and found it nice. (For that price,
it better be.) Personally, I can't see paying three times what I did at
the Sahara for a room I'll only use for crashing and a few freshen-up
sessions.
As far as activities at an upscale place, again, I don't see any problem,
but (entering broken-record/stuck-cd mode) it will just take one or more
of our people to plan the activities and make them happen.

Veto FYI:
FYI, the person who raised such a stink about photos last year sent in a
whole bunch of veto requests. Most were of her alone, so I nuked them,
but three were the three of the golf group.
I wrote back explaining that we would be using one of them, and for her
to choose between two of them. (One of these has a bad shine on one
face, so that's not a good choice.)
Anyway, just FYI since this topic came up shortly before DLV.

I agree that we should strive to keep DLV affordable to all.
I am, however, hearing a call for more upscale options. As long as we
remember the term "options", I don't see any problem.
>I wish this attendee would have told us what she did/didn't

I don't know who wrote this, but the terms "venue" (used in the singular
sense) and "main hotel" don't really apply in the context of DLV.
I'm wondering if this person actually attended. If this person did, is
he/she oblivious to the fact that there was no main hotel and no venue
for most or all of our activities? (I'm trying to think of a set of
circumstances where somebody could have attended a few things and
thought there was one primary venue.)
Something doesn't add up here.
>The Sahara/IP are older strip properties, however, for 2 years in a
>row, I personally enjoyed my experience at the Sahara and all the DLV

Most people were happy with the Sahara this year. Only one person who
answered the survey rated it lower than midpoint and would not recommend
it to others.
Personally, I enjoyed my experience for the past 3 years at the Sahara,
and also my experiences at the Stardust and the Riviera, the two other
hotels I've stayed at during DLV.
For DLV 1999 I was unexpectedly upgraded to a 3-room suite at the
Stardust. It was nice but I never really made use of it. I did let two
people who came in one day before their reservation crash on the two
couches in the living room, and I did let a couple of the local people
use it for changing, but I didn't really make use of it. Other than
sleeping and getting ready, I was never there.
For DLV, I'll probably never have the need for anything but a clean
comfortable room in a midscale hotel. I can't see paying 3 figures for
something I'll use no more than a $37 room.
But that's my thing.
(Plus, I doubt if the Bellagio has a $2.95 steak and eggs special each
night. :)
If there's a call for more of a hoity-toity place to stay, I see no
reason we can't suggest one such as the Bellagio, for those who want
something like that.

Yes, I think we need to pat ourselves on the back for this one. Feedback
is overwhelmingly positive! I'll be preparing a report on the survey
later this week. Everything so far looks great.
