Headcounts and hoops:

On Wednesday, April 3, I'm planning to send out a special mailing to
the general list which outlines anything that must be done in order to
do certain things with the group. I want to keep this as concise as
possible, such things as any reservations they must make, what costs
are involved, etc.

I'll post the thing here early this coming week so everybody can look
at it and be sure there are no errors or omissions.

This will be immediately followed by the mailing that contains the
clickable links to the headcount screen.

There are a few open items and items I'm not clear on, so if you could
please clarify these things:

Slumber party: LeeAnna, am I correct that there will be no stated
charge, but that donations to defray costs will be appreciated?

Densie, Gina, for air tours, is that the same? No charge, but
donations will be appreciated?

Mindy, for swimming, no charge but side dishes are appreciated. Is
this correct?

Some Metamorphosis notes:

(This will appear in the regular DLV mailing this Sunday. Thanks, Tina. :)

Tina sends in these notes about the upcoming Metamorphosis:

>First, let me say that I have attended many fetish events over the
>years. I travel frequently because of work, and have lost count of the
>number of times I have attended weekly fetish parties over the years
>like Bound in DC and Abby Ehmann's Gomorrah in NYC, and annual events
>like the Texas Latex Ball and Houston HPEP's S&M Ball #9 (this weekend
>in Houston for those of you on the move).

>Some are pure fetish fashion (latex, leather, and all sorts of erotic
>and often skimpy clothing in-between), while others have more of an
>S&M (sadism and masochism) orientation where significant bondage and
>pain scenes are the main focus and fashion is secondary. Personally,
>I like both types of parties, but they certainly aren't everybody's
>cup of tea.

>Second, let me say that I know next to nothing about Metamorphosis
>because it is *brand new*. The first one hasn't even happened yet! It
>will occur during the 1st weekend of April. The 2nd one is scheduled
>for the 1st weekend of May, during DLV. It's a monthly party.

>I do like a couple of things about the way that they are organizing it.

>I like the fact that they are keeping its location secret to discourage
>looky-loos (vanilla type gawkers). That's also smart advertising
>practice on the part of the party organizers. Increased mystery
>increases its cachet. Banning cameras is smart, if it's enforced.
>Putting a limit on the number of single males is a good idea also, if
>it's enforced. Music is usually that thumping dance music called house
>(used to be techno or industrial or bass and drums, or any of various
>other genre names). It's fun to dance to.

>I've never been to one that didn't have a bar, unless they allowed full
>nudity, like the S&M clubs in NYC like Vault and Hellfire. I am sure
>that Metamorphosis is not that kind of party. They were very explicit
>in their ad copy about no sexual contact.

>I've read the descriptive material about Metamorphosis, and it sounds
>more like the typical couples fashion fetish party, where the crowd is
>typically hetero and young 20's, usually thin, often with a heavy
>sprinkling of Goth kids. (Doesn't sound like a typical DLV
>demographic, which is why I was planning to skip it, but I know some
>DLV girls will find it fascinating.) Again, pure speculation on my
>part, based on the crowds I see at other fetish parties in other
>cities. An interesting question will be if they pull in more
>fashionable 30's and 40's types from the casino scene.

>I will say that typically the number of t* girls at these types of
>parties is very, very small. I have always felt welcome, but have
>usually attended singly which made me something of a novelty, helping
>me strike up conversations more easily. (And I often attend the ones
>that have a BDSM bent because I would be participating actively in
>those activities and you usually have to be a regular to fit into that.
>I don't think you'll see that at Metamorphosis anyway.) If you attend
>Metamorphosis with a big gaggle of DLV girls, you will have to make an
>effort to mingle, rather than just standing around in a big group.

>I would expect it to last until 4 AM, but again, it's brand new, so who
>knows?

>>Is this the same as the Dressed To Thrill ball they had there last year?

>No. Definitely not. Dressed To Thrill is a copyrighted name owned by
>Mistress Antoinette of Versatile Fashions, a major supplier of fetish
>fashion wear. She started and sponsors the annual Dressed to Thrill
>Fetish Fashion Ball held annually in Las Vegas. Versatile's showroom
>is in Orange, CA. (I note that their Anaheim showroom is listed as
>temporarily closed.) Dressed To Thrill is usually either in May or
>June, but I don't see any announcements about it this year so far. See
?http://www.versatilefashions.com/ and http://www.ms-antoinette.com/
>(this 2nd is a pay site, but you can browse a few Dressed To Thrill
>pictures from previous years for free, if you click deep enough). One
>special thing about Dressed To Thrill, besides the absolutely gorgeous
>clothes is the total acceptance of all things GLBT there.

>By the way, Versatile does advertise on their home page as being a
>t-friendly company, and I have always found them so when shopping with
>them. They do work with me on special sizing and custom cuts. They're
>a little pricy, but you get what you pay for.,

Boating:

>> Afternoon Glamour Boutique Open House
>> -or- Swimming party

>Bringing a swimsuit might be a good idea. It's not a scheduled
>activity, but I am fairly sure that we will be bringing our ski boat.

>So, if anyone is there early or late or just wants to make a side trip
>to Lake Meade, we're going to be cruising, skiing, bobbing, and maybe
>farting, if we can find a farter by then. The boat is comfortable with
>six people in it.

Do you want to do this informally, or schedule something on the calendar
and take sign-ups?

If you want to make this a semi-official thing, you might consider
Thursday afternoon instead of Wednesday, since we have two activities
already on the schedule then.

High Heels:

Just got this one in feedback. Before I compose an answer, I thought I
would share it with this group for any comments.

+Annie, I am interested in letting people know more about dlv. I wanted
+to seek your opinion on this first. I post and read a bulletin board
+for men in high heels. Most are not crossdressers or transgenders in
+the general sense. However I wear heels quite a bit in boymode,
+including at work. Not fetish type but mostly 3 inch heel stretch
+boots. I may wear them at times during dlv when I am not able to be
+fully femme.

+I know from some previous messages there were comments and suggestions
+concerning partial crossdressing. I don't want to promote dlv in such a
+way that may be negative for the event. That is why I am bringing this
+to you first. I want dlv to be a great event as much as everyone else
+does.

+I thought I would give you the website address for the message board I
+post to. It is pretty much g rated. It seems like a pretty well behaved
+group. This way you can get a feel for the messages. In the past a few
+have posted message concerning their experiences in Las Vegas.

+I felt best to ask your permission to promote dlv to this board as
+opposed to simply doing it. If you feel it is right, to do so, I will
+mention your website and the DLV event on the board. If you would
+rather I not post, I will understand totally and put the issue to rest.
+I like everyone else wants dlv to be a fun event.

+The men in high heels board is at
+http://members3.boardhost.com/firefoxheels/?982871674

+I hope I have not been too off topic here. But better to ask than take
+matters into my own hands. Sincerely, Anya.
