Big Sister request:

We have a lady from Italy who would like a Big Sister in the form of an
e-mail correspondent prior to DLV.

If you would like to act as Anna's Big Sister, please reply and I'll
exchange e-mail addresses between the two of you.

I'll write her a note saying it's ok to be uneasy and that we will be
matching her up with a Big Sister.

Thanks, gang. :)

Saturday stuff:

>>2. After-show items for Saturday. Again, we've had a suggestion of
>>Icon/etc.

>How about this, those who don't go to LaCage can go down to Ikon or
>Luna, then the others meet us right after the show, hopefully they
>will still be dressed, so that will be more fun. There are also 4-5
>other bars down there, Freezone, Gypsy.

I would still like to do all we can to get as many of our people as
possible at the La Cage show on Saturday. I think that's our best chance
to get the most people together in a dressy situation. I know we're not
gonna get *everybody* there, but I think we should shoot for the max we
can.

Let's hear some comments on an idea like this: We put Cafe Luna on the
schedule with a time right after La Cage lets out, with a note that
we'll have an informal tour of the other clubs in the Triangle District
following. I'm assuming Cafe Luna will have entertainment that evening.
Those who wanna stay there can, those who want to dance can go to Gipsy,
others can go to Ikon (Icon?) even Freezone if nature calls. <bfg>

Does something like that sound interesting to everybody?

>>3. RHPS. Do we wanna leave this one on the schedule, for better or

>No, don't take this the wrong way, since I know you and a few others
>love Rocky, but it's low in interest.

Ok, I think the tribe has spoken, both RHPS fans and non-fans. Unless I
hear any objections I'm gonna pull this one from the active schedule.

Going once ...

Hotels:

(somewhat edited)

>>>b). Although the Boardwalk details have been slow in coming (which,
>>>IMHO, is why they don't have a guaranteed spot on the schedule yet),
[deletia]

>>If I may speak very freely here, I think it behooves the people at
>>Boardwalk to offer our people some black-and-white competitive rates,
>>without any further hesitation. That will get our people there.
[deletia]

>Annie, I would think a Casino Manager would want {to} bend over backwards
>to cut you a deal. I can see a brush-off back when you were 20-30
>girls, but now they have the potential of selling 100 rooms.
...

Realistically, no single place can be assured of booking 100 rooms to
DLV people this year (most of the sign-ups have already booked in
various places), but we are getting large enough to have some
negotiating clout, perhaps for next year.

>>If they know they will be safe at
>>Boardwalk, they will play there and stay there rather than venture out
>>to the uncertain territory at other casinos.

>I would think this would make a Casino Manager DROOL.

Well, the thought of drooling casino hosts ... but ...<lol>

>They are always
>trying to come up with promotions to keep their guests gambling there,
>and not grazing al the other casinos.

This is a point we should emphasize. While a number of our people are
confident enough to go casino-hopping, many of them are not, and would
welcome an invitation to spend their spare time en femme at the tables
and/or machines of the place they were staying.

Last year, for those staying at the Sahara, the word got out quickly
that it was "ok" to go play en femme. Every time I walked thru the
casino there, I saw our people. I know Sahara got a lot of action from
our people last year, and will again this year.

>What you could do is write a letter to ... {the} Casino Manager at
>Boardwalk, Imperial, Sahara, and others maybe, explaining how {many}
>rooms are at potential. The worst any could do would say no special
>deal. They're not going to raise the rates just for us.

Hold that thought. Bring this up when we start talking about facilities
for DLV 2003. I know this subject will come up. There have already been
some off-line comments about the fact that having 2-3 suggested places
is confusing, so I'm sure a proposal to limit this to one will be on the
table.

_OUT_ on Monday:

Tina writes:

>>Here's another idea. If you're gonna be there Monday during the day,
>>maybe you and I and possibly other organizers could visit their office,
[snip]

>OK, I'll keep Monday afternoon open for this. Sounds like a good
>excuse to put on some makeup and a casual sun dress. (See, I can
>dress down to casual just like any other girl.) :-)

Ok, let's plan for you, me, and Leah to drop by Monday afternoon. Leah,
does that agree with your schedule? If not, what times would work for
you? Three is probably enough, we don't wanna have a mob.

We'll introduce ourselves, see what they have in mind, give them our
input, invite them to {whatever}, and pick up some papers for our
people. Leah is apparenly acquainted with some of their staff.

Leah says this is next door to Hidden Woman, so we can probably make
an introductory visit there on the same trip.

>I'm arriving Saturday and don' t yet have much in the way of solid
>plans (other than waxing and manicure) until DLV kicks off on Tuesday.
>I had been thinking about driving over to see the Grand Canyon that
>weekend, but never heard much from anyone interested in joining in. I
>may just lay out by the pool and work on my tan.

I will most likely be arriving Sunday evening. I have not received my
tickets yet, but that's what our travel people are gonna do. I don't
have any plans until Tuesday, but I kinda want to have some down time
because DLV and N+I will probably be very intense. I'll probably be
leaving Saturday after N+I. I'm sure we can have some informal pre-pre
pre-pre DLV stuff, but I'm sure I won't wanna do anything heavy.

_OUT_Las_Vegas_ and Keys:

>>>Do you have a URL for Las Vegas Out?

>>Uh, not really, maybe some of the local people do. Quick web search
>>produces an overload of similar publications with that name.

>Try http//www.outlasvegas.com That should work.

Yes, thanks, very interesting ...

BUT, take a good look at the date on the cover page on that site. It's
February >>2001<< not 2002. I was skimming over the site, thinking it
was current, when I got to a restaurant review saying to the effect of
"Keys ... recently under new ownership ... etc." and I was close to
writing a note for the mailing saying KEYS IS BACK, but it's good I
saw the date.

I think this site is an abandoned attempt at producing an on-line
edition of their hardcopy magazine. It looks like the entire site is
a relatively complete issue, exactly one year old.

Comments:

Somebody has requested that we send out an advance copy of the dress
suggestions now, so that she (and others) can purchase/plan their
wardrobe.

Is there any objection to doing this?

Personally, I don't see any problem myself, although the general
guidelines might be considered "second draft" and the activity dress
suggestions are definitely in a first-draft or even zeroth draft as of
now.

Anybody see any problem with sending this out early?
