Bars and activities:

Mindy writes:

>well got off my padded panties and did some bar hopping.. looks like

That's good to hear. I hope it survives much longer, actually. :)

>{Keys} is def toast.. now a very straight bar..

... for now <bfg>

>got a contact at gypsys.. and if we want something special (with in
>reason) i can arrange it.

Well, we've got the Dance Night after Goodtimes on Friday. I dunno what
you/they are thinging of for "something special" but that is most
likely the time the largest group of our people will be there.

Do you think they would go as far as to waive the cover for DLV people?

>texas eagles has 2 underwear nights (show up in undies and draft beer
>or well drinks are free from 10 pm till ?? ) fem underwear ok.

Yeah, uh ... :)

>this happens on wed and fri.. place is a little bit of a dump but in a

>also by accident met one of the bartenders from the backstreet lounge
>(dont confuse with backdoor lounge) and they would love to have us..
>claims they have the largest dance floor of any altenative bar in
>vegas.. will check them out soon..

Here's what it looks like we're mostly in need of now, as far as places
for our people to congregate:

1. Tuesday evening, Pre-DLV thing.

2. Wednesday evening, Welcome gathering.

3. Sunday evening, Farewell Celebration.

For 1 and 3, we definitely want places where people can talk, meaning
not as loud as the LV Lounge is when the dancers do their thing, and
not so crowded that people must fight over seats, as will happen when
anyplace does one of those AYCD things.

I know Flex (out on Charleston) has been mentioned as a possibility
for 1 or 3. What other places do all of you think may work for these.

I like the idea of a dinner and welcome gathering all in one place, like
we had planned at Keys, but this may or may not be a possibility. Mindy
mentioned maybe something at the Boardwalk, with perhaps an earlier
dinner (buffet?) elsewhere. What does everybody think about that?

Leah/Mindy, have you checked out the place that Troy went to, over in
the vicinity of the Hard Rock? Would this be a place for something like
this? TIA :)

Planes, and jumping from planes:

>Are we going to do air tours this year?

Yes, I thought that was a done deal.

>If Gina will go along with it, I will.

She has indicated she will. It's on the calendar at {mumble} see below. :)

>I'm sure now that we won't have the boat ready and that we'll be flying
>up.

Ok, looks like air tours are a go then.

>Also, I'm still willing to coordinate the skydiving, indoor or outdoor,
>if anyone is interested.

Let's put out a query on the main list this Sunday and see if anybody
is interested.

Hidden Woman on Saturday:

Leah writes:

>So far as filling up Sat. afternoon.....I spoke with Leona at the
>Hidden Woman and she would be more than happy to of course do makeovers
>and also would like to offer a makeup class.

Ok, that's definite possibility. I can see maybe something like Sat.
afternoon being a choice of mallhopping for those who are up to such
a thing, or Hidden Woman for those who are a bit more {preparing to
duck and run} uh, "hidden". :)

I can see HW (and GB) being swamped on late Saturday afternoon for
makeovers. At least it looks like we have some good options this year.

>She will be available on an appt. basis to go to the girl's rooms if

Hmmmm ... the idea of a house call for a makeover will most likely
appeal to a number of our people, and $48 is not bad at all.

Do we have any comments on making a Hidden Woman thing a feature
activity on Saturday, with a second track option of something like
mallhopping or maybe even touristy stuff?

I can also see moving mallhopping to Wednesday afternoon, and maybe
something like casino hopping on the Strip as a second-track activity on
Saturday for those who want something out and about.

Comments, gang?

Remind me sometime to tell you the result of when I took one of those
wig styling workshops at a t* convention many years ago. :) :)

This might be a good thing for inclusion in a Saturday thing at Hidden
Woman. I just wrote her a note in response to her note to me asking what
she could do, and I mentioned instructional wig styling.

Is something like that ok with you, Tina?

BW and IP buffets:

>I just stopped in LV for a day n DRAB mode and tried out the Boardwalk
>Buffet for lunch. It was not a very pleasant meal! Just my thought.

Ok, one more vote against the Boardwalk buffet. {mark on chalkboard}

I *swear* it was not bad the nite I ate there, I think, anyway, I mean I
don't think I had *that* much to drink that evening, no Galiano {sic}
anyway. :)

>I did have dinner in the IP Small Buffet for dinner and it was great as
>usual. Quality is still high. Now the larger IP buffet is not a very
>palatable experience as I found out from several people waiting in line
>for the smaller Coffee Shop Buffet.

I've never had a bad meal at the buffet in the Teahouse, but I do
remember one complaint about breakfast there back in 1998 or 1999. I
have never eaten at the larger IP buffet mostly due to reports that
it's gross.

One cheaper buffet that I was kinda impressed with on the last trip was
the new buffet at the Gold Coast. It was still under construction then,
but I assume it is finished now. It was *real* cheap during
construction, but the food was very good.

Years ago, the Gold Coast use to serve raspberry daiquiris at the buffet,
and the first one was free. I noticed they no longer do this. :( Oh well,
such is progress. :)

>>>new clothes and start dieting. Time to start wardrobe planning!

>I've got just what you need! A Boody Ski Machine!

Hmmmm .... I kinda wondered what happened to those comics. Good to see
them back. I'll have to search to see if Stuffy is in there. :)
