Kenny Kerr:

>Hi, I know that I should have written sooner but I usually don't have
>anything earth-shattering to say. Really enjoyed DLV the last 2 years

Great. As you know, feedback on dlv2k+0 was very good.

>The main reason for this note is to let you know that Kenny Kerr was
>EVICTED from the Plaza. I will let you know where his show will appear
>as soon as he gets a new place. It apparently was a rental type dispute.
>He was paying $1\ticket to the landloard of the showroom and was not

>have to run for now, just wanted to update you for panning purposes.
>Will keep you updated as things happen.

Thanks. Please let us know of anything you hear. I'm sending the note I
sent to this list out with the main DLV list in a few minutes in the
October update. I don't see any major wrench-in-the-works for DLV 'cuz
of this, but I know some people were looking forward to it. I'm sure
the show will be around, just not at the Plaza.

From the rumor mill:

UNCONFIRMED RUMOR: It has been reported that workers have been seen
moving furniture back IN to the Desert Inn hotel rooms, and Steve Wynn
is entertaining an offer from one of the major hotel chains.

It ain't over 'till it's over. This is unconfirmed.

Late breaking news: _Gaming_Today_ is reporting "Wynn says hold the dynamite"

Stay tuned for ...

FI Shows:

>>>The Kenny Kerr show, which has played at the Plaza since August 1998,
>>>ends its run Saturday. Mike Nolan, the Plaza's general manager, said he
>>>isn't aware of the show's next venue.

>>This may or may not be of any major concern to us, since Kenny has

>How many other shows like that are there in Vegas? Is Marino the only
>other one showing?

Well, as of today (Monday) Frank Marino is the only headlining FI show
in Las Vegas. Kenny Kerr will undoubtedly be back shortly, but we don't
know where yet.

There was an attempt at a third show, "Guys Will Be Dolls" which had
brief runs at the Continental and then at one of the near-Strip places,
maybe Bourbon Street, maybe Maxim, but never really caught on.

Web feedback:

>>I'd like all of you to
>>please help critique the form and shake down the inner workings.

>Looks good and works good. Faster than all on-line ordering,
>can we assume it will run that fast when you put it on line?

Thanks. Yes, the speed you see is the actual speed of operation.

>My only complaint: Don't you think giving people a reference no.
>long and large like 123456789-9876 is a bit impersonal?

Well, uh, possibly. I think people that use the web are getting used
to things like that.

I reused the code for this from that I use on a number of other
projects, and that number is always guaranteed to be unique. I suppose
if it were *really* important, it would be possible to put in code to
guarantee a small ordinal number in there.

>Would it be possible to use their name or e-mail for reference?

I don't think we can assume name or e-mail will always be unique and
static. We get many e-mail change requests on the DLV list. For example,
we almost had two Annies at DLV last year.
