Schedule and timeframe:

Unless there are any strong objections, I would like to announce that we
are leaning toward a Wednesday, May 2 thru Monday, May 7 timeframe for
DLV 2001 in the monthly summary that will go out in just over one week.

If anybody has any comments, specifically if anybody has any objections
to this timeframe, please speak now or forever ...

I would like to also announce that we want the dates to be "in stone" by
September, and that we want to have a mostly-filled-in daily schedule by
January.

I agree here. It's a great group of people and a great time. :)

Uh ... DLV with out a FI show???

That would be like, uh, uh, a bra without padding?

Uh, springtime without peeps?

Yes, we've been to FI shows the past 4 years. I don't see the demand for
them dropping off. This year we even had people go to the Kenny Kerr show
even though it was not on the schedule.

{amen, sister} :)

True. ... I think the closest to any hassles anybody had were some catcalls
at the Riviera this year. There have been no confrontations I'm aware of.

Gamblers General Store, on Main St, just up from the Attic, is well worth
the trip. If you want an old slot machine for your rec room, that's where
you get it, except it will set ya back the better part of a kilobuck.

I actually know where that is, or rather I knew where it was a few years
ago. Yesco has apparently barricaded much of it off from public view.

Monday Night Suggestions:

>This is a serious suggestion. I think all girls want to see what they
>would look like as a bride. We could rent a wedding chapel with a bunch
>of flowers for an hour or two, dress everybody up in bridal gowns, and
>have all our pictures taken.

This was suggested a couple years ago. Nothing ever happened of it.

As an aside, brides always show up at Fall Harvest. See the URL:

http://www.geekbabe.com/annie/fh99/bride/

>We would just need one guy in a tux to
>stand next to us as the "groom".

Uh, who needs a groom? <vbfg> :) :) :)

Ever hear of a double-gown wedding? :)

>There are always used bridal gowns for sale in newspaper ads and at
>resale shops. Also, Roaman's catalog sells bridal gowns in its spring
>issues in the $250 - $300 price range.

There's also ebay ...

>In either case, you can re-sell
>the gown afterwards by putting it on consignmentn at a resale shop.

Uh, but who would wanna do that?

>Now for a semi-serious suggestion for a Monday night activity: get a
>videotape of a Monday Night Football game, dress up as cheerleaders, go
>to a sports bar (or any bar), and get really drunk while doing
>cheerleader imitations.

Hmmmm ... I've thought of doing the cheerleader thing for h'ween, but
I realize the closest I would get would be portraying an out-of-shape
ex-cheerleader at her 25 year reunion. :) :) :)

>A non-serious suggestion: dress up as hookers and walk down the strip
>at 4 AM. (Tina wakes up and sez: I thought we already did that in 99.)

Uh, yeah, just be sure to carry your get-outa-jail-free card. :)
