Thanks, gang:
First of all, I would like to say thanks to all of you for helping to
keep things moving and on time. I honestly thought that would be a
major headache for us this year. Even though traffic was a mess, and
everybody was quite distracted from keeping time, we had no major time
problems.
Also, big thanks to everybody for doing their part to make DLV99 the
largest and most successful so far. You are all indeed a credit to
yourselves and to the community.

Virtual Door-Prize Drawing:
As you know, we never had the proper time and place for our intended
Door Prize Drawing. One very good point was that it was not fair to
everybody to simply have an arbitrary time/place with only a portion of
the people present.
Therefore, let's do a post-DLV virtual drawing here on line for the
following items:
1. Cosmetic case
2. Brush kit
3. Goldtone chain and pendant, from $10 gaming token, La Cage (Riviera)
4. same as #3, Four Queens
5. DLV98 t-shirt, slightly imperfect, size M (approx adult L)
Here's how you enter:
The computer is thinking of a number between 0 and 65535. Send in your
guess of what it is. Closest guess gets first choice of above, next
closest gets second choice, etc. In case of ties, lower number wins.
You are eligible if you attended any or all of the events of DLV99. If
you were present at any activity for at any time, please send in your
entry.
Just send in a number between 0 and 65535 to dlv99@geekbabe.com

On a serious note:
I've heard almost no negative feedback at all, but I'm still concerned
about a couple things, and I want to be sure that nothing (or nobody)
has fallen through the cracks.
Again this year we had a number of total no-shows, those who said they
were coming, even said where they were staying and when they would be
in, but simply failed to show up. (I'm not talking about things like
one who had to cancel due to a business commitment, or the couple who
had to cancel due to family problems.) I've been aware that this is
common at events such as this for over 20 years, but I'm still
concerned about it.
I noticed something else this year that likewise I have some concern.
We had a few people who appeared to show up at one event and then
vanish into thin air for the rest of the weekend.
I want to be sure that there were no cases of unease or discomfort with
the group. If there were, I would like to know about it. So, if you
have any insight to this, I would appreciate it if you would either
write in to this list, or mail me personally at annie@annie.net.

Planning for 2000:
There were a number of you who expressed interest in getting involved
and helping with the planning and the putting-on of DLV 2000.
I'm starting up a separate mailing list (title: dlvorg) for those who
want to be involved with the planning (and the anticipation :) of DLV
2000. I'll send a test message to this new list within the next week or
so. By default, I'm including those on the current DLV99 mailing list
on the organizational (dlvorg) list.
Those who do not want to be on the planning/organizational mailing list
can simply return the test message with an UNSUBSCRIBE notation. The
regular DLV 2000 list will become active around the end of the year.

Test messages:
While setting up the new DLV2000 mailing list, a couple test messages got
accidentally sent out to the list. Please ignore these. That list should
show no traffic for several months.

Web Pages:
Preliminary followup pages are now on line, but still very much under
construction.

If anybody has any more photos they want added to these pages, you can
e-mail them to me, ftp them to www.geekbabe.com (login: dlv99 pswd: dlv99)
or, if you do not have a means of scanning them, let me know and I will
give you a snailmail address to send the photos, which will be returned
promptly.

Mail and web directory:
Not much response so far on this. I'm very uneasy simply releasing the
mailing list. Lots of the people there last week would like to maintain
contact with the others.
If you want to have your mail address included in this, please simply
hit return and respond with your preferred e-mail address and if you
have one, a url.
Also, if you would like to send something out via this list, just send
in your message with a note to me to pass it on to the list unedited.
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
That's about it. If anybody has any other followup items, please send
them in. We'll keep this list alive for a few more weeks at least.
