Snagging pantyhose or stockings

Don't you just hate it when you go to put on a pair of pantyhose or stockings and your nail or something snags them and puts a run in them?

Simple solution-- go to a camera/photo supply store and get a pair or two of the little cotton gloves they use for handling negatives and slides. Put them on prior to donning your hose and presto no nail or callous snags.

Painting glue on nails

OK you're all dressed and ready to do the nail thing but, once they're glued on you have to sit and wait for the polish to dry. Not to mention an accidental stroke of the brush on the finger itself.

Solution-- Some evening while sitting at the computer waiting for a file to download or if the chat rooms are quiet, take some double sided tape and a dowel stick and stick the nails to it. Now you can paint them without fear of messing up and let them dry for the second coat. You may want to use an emory board or file to take of any of the 'splay' from when the nails molded prior to painting.

Making Fake Nipples

This one is a little more artsy and craftsie but it works if you want to make the effort.

I got this idea from annie who came up with a great method of making breast forms, unfortunaely her pages have taken a vacation to get a makeover.  I have tried to replicate her methodology below.

First you have to use modeling clay to make a positive form. I used the bottom of a beverage can as the source for that. Then you attach a clay nipple to that and blend it all in so it looks smooth.

Next, place the nipple in a shallow container (I made a small tray out of aluminum foil) and pour plaster of paris over it.

After the plaster sets remove the clay from it and clean it up slightly sanding if necessary.

Now make a trip to your local fishing tackle place and get yes the infamous rubber fishworms. They usually have an abundance of the rubber thingies and pick some in the shade you want. Get the ones without the hooks already in them and leave out the glittery ones unless you want to look very special: ) You don't have to buy out the entire store stock as it only taked 4 or 5 per nipple.

Melt those critters over a very low heat in a pan you don't have any other use for and then when it's liquid pour into the plaster mold. Use a tablespoon to stir it and make sure it doesn't burn or start on fire. Then use the spoon to transfer the liquified stuff to the plaster mold. Bear in mind that the mold is cool and the melted worms will solidify on contact so you will have to *swirl* the mold as you would when making tortilla shells in a frying pan. If it's done right you will have a nipple that's about 1/8 inch thick at the most .

When it's cool remove it from the mold and trim any irregularities around the edges with scissors.

Don't worry if it doesn't come out perfect the first time as it can be remelted and you can try again.

I've personally worn them in public using the false boobs annie describes on her pages and with a bra and thin top they stick out just enough to look very real and convincing.
