Male Woman was a term which never really gained much acceptance, although it did have a brief resurgence in the suggested lexicon of the International Alliance in the late 1970s.

The term attempted to emphasize the distinction between sex and gender. "Male" referred to the biological sex and "woman" referred to the gender of presentation.

Critics considered the term to be an oxymoron and awkward to use.
